Pefect companion when carrying a DSLR is not an option. Photo & video qualities are very good and it is very fun to use its many funtions. If you have thick fingers it may be little difficult to manuever the compact buttons, but this is a beautiful little guy.

Once again, stellar service from B&H. The quality of the build on this Canon extension is outstanding. I love the RP for it's size but I have large hands and it was a bit awkward to hold. Once the extension was installed it made the camera vastly easier to handle!

Great grip for larger hands, making it feel more like a pro body. The weather-sealed compartment hatch with a twisting latch is secure and nearly impossible to open accidentally. The red accent color adds a personal touch. It’s a bit pricey, but worth it. I would buy it again.

This is the perfect accessory for my Canon R8. I also own an R6 Mark II which is just a little larger than the R8 and so I could feel the difference in size immediately. I have large hands and was a little uncomfortable to hold. TBH I seriously considered returning the R8 because of this but I didn't want to because the R8 itself is a powerhouse in its own right too.
I did not want to go the route of a huge battery grip and so the extension grip looked like a good alternative despite my apprehension that the extension grip would be enough to make a difference.
This extension grip is perfect. It makes the camera feel more like my R6 Mark II and has a solid feel to it and while at first glance the extension grip doesn't like it would make that much of a difference, it absolutely does.
It is mostly an all-metal construction, so it also adds a little bit of extra heft to the R8 which makes a ton of difference to the overall feel of the camera.
It fits perfectly to my R8, and the rubberized grip around the extension grip feels exactly the same as the grip on the R8.
There was a lot of thought that went into this grip and access to battery and SD card via the battery door works flawlessly.
I personally feel that the cost is appropriate for the extension grip. It's a well-built, solid piece of equipment that definitely adds a better experience to my Canon R8.

I purchased this for my R8. It basically gives my pinky purchase on the front of the camera instead of the front corner or bottom. This provides more comfortable control when manipulating the camera.


The battery/memory door works very well. You remove the door on the camera, and use the door on the extension.


I use an falcam38 mount attached to the camera full time and have had no issues. (for use with camera strap and tripod)

I've been using Canon's PowerShots for about 8 years now. It's a great tool for field job pictures. Very small package and wonderful quality pictures right out of the box. Love this one even more than my previous ones.
