Each of the four mic/line inputs is equipped with a 3-band EQ, pan control, and a high-pass filter. The four D-PRE mic preamps feature an inverted Darlington circuit and switchable 48V phantom power for use with dynamic and condenser microphones. They also each feature 26 dB attenuation switches for recording loud sound sources such as guitar amplifiers.

The MG10XU mixer has stereo XLR and TRS outs for connecting to your PA system or monitor speakers. It also has a 1/4" headphone output with level control for personal monitoring as well as additional TRS 1/4" stereo monitor outs for sending to powered speakers, amplifiers, or devices such as digital recorders.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the interface works on mac.what should I do to use it

A: yes, just plug the usb cable on the mixer and your mac, and on sound preferences select input and output MG10XU

Q: 2. How FX send works?

A: The FX level on each channel also feeds to TRS FX send (TRS output) for routing to devices such as external FX units or monitor mixers

Q: 3. Can You Record While Playing live On To A Recorder?

A: Yes, you can connect the output from the Yamaha MG10XU Mixer to an audio recorder to record a live performance. You can also record directly to a Mac or Windows computer, or to an iPad using the mixer's built-in USB audio interface.

Q: 4. Is it possible to hook up this mixer to my a/v receiver (Denon AVR-4308CI) which I already connect to speakers? and how? Thanks

A: Yes, the Yamaha MG10XU could be connected to an AV receiver. You could connect the stereo outputs of the MG10XU to one of the receiver's audio inputs with a 1/4" to RCA stereo cable such as BH #HOHPR003X2.

Q: 5. Do I need an interface for this or does it's USB channel work the same way?

A: This unit features a built in interface. When connected to a computer the mixer will pass the main stereo mix via its USB connection.

Q: 6. Will this mixer power high impedance headphones such as the sennheiser hd650's ?

A: The headphone output on the Yamaha MG10XU will cater to headphones with a nominal impedance of 40 ohms. Because the HD650's are 300 ohms, the use of an external headphone amplifier will be beneficial and recommended.

Q: 7. I have an sm57 with very low output. Will this be enough to drive it? The 2i2, m-track and ur22 were not. Thanks.

A: The Yamaha MG10XU should work fine with an SM 57. Its hard to tell as I cant see how you have hooked things up and what is going on. But you should have no problem with that mixer and the 57. The first thing to check is phantom power off as that is a dynamic mic. The next thing to do is bring up the mic pre level to almost 12 oclock. Before you even touch the fader. Its the white knob that says gain. Make sure the switch is in mic and not line and the 20-dB pad is not engaged. Also make sure the main volume on the mixer is up.

Q: 8. Can I do loop back recording? Where I can record a vocal in real time over a karaoke track played from a web browser or media player.

A: Unfortunately you cannot it's a mixer not a recorder.

Q: 9. Can you adjust the volume between playback coming from your computer, and the input coming from your mic? Most audio interfaces have an input/playback knob where you can adjust and hear varying levels of the track playing on your computer, and what's coming out of your microphone.

A: Yep. Every channel is individually adjustable for volume including anything coming in from the computer or mic.

Q: 10. Can I bring the program feed from this mixer into Zoom or other similar software directly via the USB port on the mixer?

A: Yes, the Yamaha MG10XU can send a 2-channel mix out to a computer via USB.

I use this mixer to announce sporting events. The 10 Channel input makes it easy to add two microphones. For those that use iPod type music devices, 3.5mm to RCA or large connector work well. I do appreciate the FX especially when dealing with bad amps, stadium issues, etc. Also, voice tone/control can be modified to a certain extent. This is my 2nd Yamaha mixer. The product works well and recommend it to others.

I use this mixer primarily for wedding receptions. There are enough inputs to run my acoustic guitar, vocal mic, wireless mic for toasts, and 2 laptops for dance music. I also dig the ability to run it into my computer for recording!

- Audio interfaces that can compete with this in terms of preamps and effects would be 2 the price of this. - As a mixer its one of the best in class. - Not easily portable as it only uses mains power with no battery solutions. (DIY external power for this would be big and clunky)

Primary use to drive set of amplifier speakers outdoors. Didn't need extensive input selection - just something to boost and split signal to 2 speakers. For that purpose this mixer works fine.

This product is used in Classical Music Concerts (typically vocal duo, a violin and one or two percussion instruments) for on-stage control and mixing by the artists to ensure quality feed to the house and monitors. It also provides digital multitrack output to a recording device (from a laptop to a quality recorder - CD quality or higher - with near-studio-quality precision) Portability of the instrument (footprint, power, weight) of this level of audio-fidelity is impressive - including phantom power support for two of the channels. The main downside is the need to have an external recorder rather than having one built in.

I paired this MG10XU with Sennheisers MKH-416 and the audio is truly amazing. Very small form factor makes this perfect for my small studio. Now as I grow, Ill be able to add more inputs. Its kind of like a Pelican case: buy a little bigger than you think you need.. youll grow into it. Super intuitive as well, only a few hours after unboxing I understood most of the controls. Perfect mixer for a newb!
