The frames are made of card stock with two creases on the ear pieces so you can fold them to create the perfect fit.

A: Absolutely! All cameras risk (will sustain) light sensor damage when imaging the Sun without a proper filter with the exception of the 2 minutes or so of totality of a total eclipse. This only takes place in the ribbon of totality which during the upcoming Aug. 21st event will be only 70 miles or so wide and at very specific times per location.
