Each one is constructed as you have specified as a must to meet your needs. They each have a solid center rod that feels and appears to be made of stainless steel. I cannot comment on the radial rods being fiber or not, since they are all covered by the translucent material/fabric. My best advice here would be to contact B&H Photo and speak to one of their very knowledgeable staff members. They have helped me many times in finding just what I needed, even if they are not the ones who sell it.David C
