This 2" Micro-End Vice Jaw Clamp from Manfrotto is designed to help solve the problem of positioning lighting equipment on set, stage, or location. Made of a chrome-plated steel rod and die-cast aluminum jaw set, it has a round tube of up to 2". It has a robust load capacity of up to 55 lb. The jaws feature bright red rubber thermoplastic polyurethane liners for traction and to prevent marring the finish of the surface they are being attached to. The anti-jam design of the clamp mechanism means that this vice jaw clamp is less likely to stick or jam when opened from both its fully closed position following storage or when detached from a mounting point, even after prolonged use.

This 2" micro-end jaw clamp featured a fixed jaw at the end of the threaded rod, ideal for positioning in tight spaces. It has a knurled shaft makes it ideal for mounting in a C-stand grip head for gripping objects such as light controls or props. The end of the knurled shaft has a 1/4"-20 female thread mount, and a 1/4"-20 male to 1/4"-20 male adapter is included for light-duty grip applications.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the difference in functionality between the center jaw and the end jaw configuration of the Matthellini?

A: The end jaw model can be an easier fit in tight spaces since you don't need to have space for the fastening handle to stick out behind what you're mounting. The center jaw model is more stable under load since it keeps mounted weight closer to the jaws.

Q: 2. What is the OVERALL length end-to-end?...and, what is the size of the OPEN jaw, i.e.., what size object can the open jaw accommodate?

A: The actual post is about 8 (inches) long. The bottom half of the clamp to the top of the post is 5 long. Within the clamp jaws you could fit a 3 1/4 item. I wouldn't go larger than 3 though. I use it to hold boom poles on C clamps. Works great!

Q: 3. Does this come with a wedge to be able to use it with flat surfaces?

A: not necessary, the design of the clamp permits gripping flat surfaces or corners

Q: 4. Has anyone used one of these to hold a 4x4 or 6x6 ScrimJim Cine?

A: You can, but its a good idea to have one on each side.

Q: 5. Does this come with a wedge to use with flat surfaces?

A: No, but the design allows you to clamp on flat surfaces securely.

Q: 6. How do I remove the pin in the clamp so I can remove it and add the extender?

A: I’m not sure what pin you are talking about, but the extenders I am familiar with just clamp onto the end. You may have one of the Matthellini clamps that are configured different. There are about 3 or 4 different Mattellini clamp versions. I have found that sometimes you have to use a short one with an extension to make it work for what I want to do. I have 3 or 4 clamps in different sizes and they are each made different, so many times I try different combinations until I find what works best. They work great and are very solid unlike some clamps that have their use but move regardless of how much you tighten them

Q: 7. Can two of these Matthews Matthellini Clamps be attached together for a parallel double clamp?

A: Not at this time.

Q: 8. Is it compatible woth Kupo cstand arm and arm grip?

A: You can use it with a grip arm.

Q: 9. I have a Matthellini clamp that looks just like this and want to buy a second one. However, the jaw I have is 3 wide. Is this 3 wide or only 2 ? I can't find a 3 version at B&H. Thanks.

A: This clamp is 3 wide. The 2 , I believe, refers to the depth of the clamp - from front to back of the jaw.

Q: 10. What size pipe can the clamp fit around? Will it grip, say, a 4 pipe?

A: The jaws will certainly open up that far, but it will not get a very good bite on the pipe once you start to tighten it. I just tried it on some 3 pipe and the jaws can't get a good wrap on the pipe.
