Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this tripod have a center column or not? Some of the pictures show a center column.

A: Yes it does

Q: 2. would these legs be good pair with the Manfrotto XPRO Magnesium Ball Head with 200PL-14 Plate(model MHXPRO-BHQ2) ?

A: Yes a Manfrotto MHX-PRO-BHQ2 would be suitable for these Benro legs.

Q: 3. has any one been able to get it packed in carry-on luggage?

A: Yes it will fit in my carry on bag,it is 21 and 1 half in. With foot on

Q: 4. Will this lens hood also fit a Canon 24-70 f/2.8L lens? (Not the f/2.8L II, but the first model.)

A: Vello EW-83L Dedicated Lens Hood is not the correct lens hood for the 1st generation of Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 L series lens. Please review the following link to find the correct Vello lens hood for your lens. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/749678-REG/Vello_LHC_EW83F_LHC_EW83F_Dedicated_Lens_Hood.html

Q: 5. What is the diameter of the top plate?

A: The Benro TAD27A Series 2 Adventure Aluminum Tripod has a base mount diameter of 56mm.

Q: 6. Do the legs grip well enough to hold 8 lb slider with a 7-9 lb rig? Is the leg tension adjustable/can it be tightened?

A: Clamp tension is easily adjustable with the included tool. I would feel confident putting that much weight on this tripod. Some clamps on mine were set a bit looser than I'd prefer but that was not a problem to correct.

Q: 7. Is the 3/8” stud threaded into a corresponding 3/8 threaded hole in this tripod head? Can it be unscrewed?

A: Yes, the 3/8" stud can b e removed.

Q: 8. Does this come with a strap like the manfrotto ones?

A: Yes, this monopod comes with a strap.

Q: 9. Will the Benro 3 leg locking base #BEVT2 work on this monopod?

A: I can't address the issue of the foot being removable from this particular monopod but I can respond to the usefulness of Benro three footed monopods. First of all to make a blanket statement that three footed monopods are useless is ridiculous. I have a Benro three footed monopod that I use with binoculars and a small spotting Scope and it performs very well. It adds a great deal to the stability of the view through these optics, far better than a conventional monopod. It's not as stabil as a tripod but it does a good job and is lighter in weight, has a smaller foot print and is easier to move about. So, just because it doesn't work for you doesn't mean it can't work for someone else.

Q: 10. How accurate is the load capacity? Looking to use this with a Pentax 6x7

A: The weight capacity on the TAD18A is very accurate, as it definitely hold a Pentax 67. However, this tripod still requires a head such as the Benro B3 Triple Action Ball Head, BH # BEB3 https://bhpho.to/2XnTeuA
