Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the strap work well with just one camera attached?

A: Since it's designed to hold two cameras, it would be unbalanced with just one--but it would work.

Q: 2. I once had a strap with a quick release and it failed. How strong are these?

A: These should be more than strong enough but if you are looking for a more rugged option would be the BlackRapids, BL361003

Q: 3. does the strap have to be attached to the one screw point on the bottom of the camera or can it be attached to where the manufacture neck strap attaches?

A: You can attach the strap to the 1/4 thread on the bottom given you put the adapter. the strap comes without the adapter but it be wise not to do it.

Q: 4. Is the leather part of the strap longer, or is it just the nylon tapes that are longer?

A: The nylon portion would be longer.

Q: 5. I received mine yesterday. In the description, it says that it is a "sliding camera strap". Is the camera supposed to be able to slide on the strap to eye level so that you don't have to remove the camera to use it? Or is it not supposed to slide that high? If not, what is the point of the strap being able to slide at all?

A: I am sorry that you are having problems with the strap. If you watch the demo video on this page, around 2 minutes and 20 seconds in, he demos the dual strap sliding it up to his eye.

Q: 6. Does RucPac have the 1/4-20 'D' ring to attach a heavy lens mount or does this need to come from another maker?

A: The RucPac Sentinel Camera Strap (Black) does include a 1/4"-20 D ring.

Q: 7. Can you purchase additional sections that connect to the camera?

A: You can purchase additional camera connectors to switch out cameras. The strap will only connect to two cameras at a time though.

Q: 8. Does anyone know if this longer than the peak design cuff wrist strap? I want to use it as a safety strap. Peak design too short

A: Yes, the SmallRig Camera Wrist Strap (Black) would be longer than the Peak Design Cuff Camera Wrist Strap.

Q: 9. Is this compatible with Peak Design connection system?

A: No, they are a different size.

Q: 10. How does this mount to my 70-200 and 500mm lenses?

A: You would need RucPac 1/4" Screw Strap D-Ring in order to attach the strap to your lenses 1/4-20 threads.

I use this to replace an older Domke strap where the rubber strips had worn away. These cotton straps with rubber strips are much more comfortable and secure than the nylon straps used on most camera bags. Those nylon straps are low friction and slip right off your shoulder. Regardless, the Domke is highly recommended.

Use it to replace the traps on my Domke bags. They are fine replacements. I wish they made a green color rplacement for my other Domke bag...they are still not as good as the original strap that had a sude insert on the underside...I still have that one in opreation after 30 years! These have a much shorter life span.

I got this to replace the strap on my 20-year-old F2 Bag. After all this time, and after not using the bag for many years, the rubber gripper material dried and cracked off. I recently got back into SLR photograpy with purchase of D90 and I am rejuvenating my old gear that is still useable...I really like the Domke bag and I really like the gripper strap. Note that on the original bag, the strap is sewn in place with one adjustment buckle. For the replacement, the directions have you use two of the adjustment buckles to attach the strap, making the strap removeable. Myself, I preferred to hand-sew in place permanently with nylon thread, as the original. I will probably get another gripper strap to replace the nylon carry strap for my tripod....nylon slips off shoulder too easily. I carry my gear on long hikes into the woods for nature photography, woodland scenes.

My DOMKE bag is easily 25 years old. The strap has my last three addresses printed on it with Bunny ink, but the bag's better than new. It has a worn look news photographers love. The replacement strap says DOMKE's not just in it for the money. They make the best bags and they stand behind them.

Easy instructions. Easy to install. The new rubber in the strap makes the grip so much better after the old rubber disintegrated. Still love my original F2 bag...especially with its new shoulder strap.

I purchased this strap to replace the old strap on my F2. The most difficult part of installation was cutting the old strap off, but installing the new strap was no problem at all. The product should come with a second adjustment buckle - the assumption made is that you already have an adjustment buckle with your old strap.

I bought this to replace the worn out strap on my Domke F2. I cut the old strap off, used the hardware from that strap and saved myself a lot of money by not having to buy a new bag. Just make sure you pay attention how the original strap is attached and follow that when installing the new strap. No sewing is involved if you do it right.

I put this on an old Domke bag whose strap had long since died and been replaced with a clip-on that never worked right. This strap fits properly, stays on my shoulder, and looks good. Important: the replacement strap comes with only one locking glide piece, when two are required. The directions state that you should use one from the old strap, but I had thrown that away years ago. I was able to purchase a second one at a local hiking outfitter.

This seems to be the same strap as the old one. Cut the old strap off, wrapped the new one in the same way and sewed it together. The only warning is that if you want your strap to match the original, you will have to use one of the original triglides.
