The Tiffen 5 x 6" 1 Magenta Soft-Edge Graduated Filter helps to specifically add a pinkish, magenta coloration to skies and other bright areas of an image while allowing a portion of the image to remain neutrally colored. The filter's coloring is densest at the edge and tapers to clear by the middle, with a soft-edged transition between the density and clear areas. The 1 color density provides less magenta coloration than the 2 density filter.

This filter is made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass and grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch. It measures 5 x 6" / 127 x 152.4mm.

Note: A horizontal orientation filter's line of transition runs parallel to the long side of the filter.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Since the filter is 100 x 150mm This can still slide into a 100mm holder am I correct?

A: Yes you are correct

Q: 2. These are meant for using your camera verically?

A: The NiSi 100x150mm Nano Soft-Edge Graduated IRND 0.9 Filter (3-Stop) is not for vertical shooting only. The filter is used in a filter holder and is long so that you can move the graduated part of the filter off-center.

Q: 3. I have heard many good things about 100mm formatt filters. Does the quality of those 85mm resin filters is the same of other Formatt filters?I plan to use them in top of my 77mm B+W circular ND filters, by using a cheap Cokin P holder. To be used on Fuji X-T1.Thanks

A: I think it's a good filter and a good buy. It is quite a bit cheaper than many other brands, but it is much more scratch resistant than the very inexpensive ones.

Q: 4. this lists a 10 year warrantywhere can I read the terms and conditions of the warranty?

A: Schneider's warranty provisions can be found here: http://bit.ly/108Lg6k

Q: 5. will this work on my A7II lens?

A: While it should be compatible, the answer will depend on the lens you own, not which camera you own. As the Sony Alpha a7II Mirrorless Digital Camera uses interchangeable lenses, we would first need to know which lens you own (or the filter thread size for your lens) to see if there is an adapter ring compatible for your lens' filter thread size. As this was not listed in your inquiry, I would have to recommend to e-mail us the brand/model name of your lens, the B&H number, or the filter thread size of your lens to prophoto@bhphotovideo.com and we could then inform you if the system would work with your equipment, and which lens adapter ring would be required for purchase to use the filter holder system with your equipment.

Q: 6. Will this fit into the lee100 holder?

A: This filter is 2mm thick and the Lee system is also 2mm, so any filter that is 100mm wide and 2mm thick will work.

Q: 7. I ordered P series Cokin GND filter. My lens diameter is 77mm Should I order a 77-82mm step up ring to fix on my filter adapter ring? Pls guide!!?

A: The Cokin adapter rings are threaded on one side & have a flange on the other end that slides into the Cokin holder. You need to purchase the Cokin 77mm adapter ring for the P series filter holder.

Q: 8. I will use this on a 77mm. Why shouldn't I just get a screw on?

A: What do you do if you get a different lens with a larger diameter? More importantly a screw on doesn't let you adjust for where the horizon is in your composition.

Q: 9. Lee filter adapters

A: If your asking which filter adapters can be used in conjunction with this filter and the Lee Foundation Holder, that would depend greatly on the lens you are using.

Q: 10. Hi , do I need to purchase a 77mm adapter ring for using this filter?

A: Yes you will need an adapter ring for every different size lens you may want to use the ND filter on
