Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I use several WASP270L at an outdoor event within 50 ft from each other? Will there be interference if we use wired mics?

A: The Technical Pro WASP270L Rechargeable Portable Speaker with Wireless UHF Lapel Microphone operates on a narrow UHF band, so interference is very likely if multiple units are used in close proximity. Ultimately, results may vary when using the wireless microphones based on the location, environment, and any obstructions. There should be no problem with interference if using the WASP270L with wired microphones instead of the wireless mics.

Q: 2. I understand that you can't monitor the audio levels via the app but can you receive error messages like 'card full' via bluetooth?

A: The Zoom F2-BT Ultracompact Bluetooth-Enabled Portable Field Recorder with Lavalier Microphone BH #ZOF2BT does not allow monitoring over bluetooth. It is only as a remote for functionality. The smartphone app can be used for remote control functions such as record start/stop, low-cut filtering, output volume, and battery display, but does not provide a way to listen to the audio. The headphone jack on the F2 provides a 3.5mm output to listen and monitor the audio while recording.

Q: 3. I need to buy an extra cord to plug into these headphones. Which type of cord do I need? The hole on them is smaller.

A: You would require a 3.5 mm to 2.5 mm audio cable for compatibility with the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Wireless Noise Canceling Over-Ear Headphones (Black).

Q: 4. Due to the large size of the included mic I am looking for a compatible mic with a smaller head. My Senal UTM-86 LAV MIC w/3.5mm-SENN does work, but the audio levels are very low. Could the Rode Lavalier II Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone with its Operating Voltage or Plug-In Power of 1.5 to 5 V be used with the F2? Will the F2 provide enough power to the Rode to give the necessary audio levels? Or which mic could be recommended?

A: Yes, the Rode Lavalier II Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone is compatible for use with the Zoom F2 Field Recorder. The F2 provides 2.5V of plug-in power and any lavalier or headset style microphones that are wired for compatibility with Sennheiser wireless microphone transmitters and can operate with 2.5V can be used with the F2.

Q: 5. Will a Sanken COS-11D work with this?

A: Yes,, you can use a Sanken COS-11D, but the microphone must have a locking 3.5mm connector for compatibility with the input on the Zoom F2-BT. For example, you can use the Sanken COS-11D Omni Lavalier Mic, Normal Sens, Hardwired 1/8" TRS Connector for Sennheiser Evolution Wireless Transmitter (B&H # SAC11WNSETRB). Microphones wired for use with Sennheiser transmitters are compatible with the F2 and F2-BT, but microphones wired for Sony transmitters are not compatible because the wiring is different.

Q: 6. I have Red Komodo that I need timecode sync for zoomf2 BT version. The UltraSync Blue does not plug into Komodo so how do I sync it? Will zoom f2 BT work with tentacle sync gen for red komodo? If not what timesync generator can I get for Red Komodo and wc B box 5 pin lemon timecode out?

A: This unit uses time code through Bluetooth and will connect wirelessly to Ultrasync Blue devices.

Q: 7. Can it be used to record from a wedding band's console?

A: The F2-BT was not intender for that type of application, but you can make it work. The input on the F2-BT is mic level while the output from the console is line level and also uses a locking 3.5mm TRS connector, so you will need to use a line-to-mic level attenuating cable to pad the console's output signal to match the recorder's input level as well as an adapter with a locking connector to attach to the recorder's input. We have a selection of attenuating cables with different types of connectors that will work. If the console has a "tape out" with dual RCA connectors, you can use the Sescom SES-43DB-# 43 dB Pad DSLR Attenuating Line to Mic Level Cable - 18" (B&H #SES43DBMZ2P). Then to connect to the input of the recorder, add a female-to-female coupler such as the Hosa Technology GMM303 3.5mm Female Stereo Mini to 3.5mm Female Stereo Mini Adapter (B&H #HOASMFSMF) along with a cable such as the Sennheiser CL1 cable (B&H #SECL1) which has standard and locking 3.5mm connectors on the ends. The locking end will connect to the F2-BT's input. Please feel free to contact us by phone or through live chat if you would like further assistance.

Q: 8. if you had to compare this to rode wireless go in order to record audio to camera etc?

A: This is a fairly sophisticated recorder, that comes with a wired lav mic, and features bluetooth control, and 32-bit float recording. You would get very food recordings in this unit, but would then sync them to your video in post production. The quality would be better than the Rode WIreless Go, but the Rode system is a microphone and the audio signal goes right to your camera, making for less post production work.

Q: 9. I have the Zoom F6, which generates its own timecode, and has bluetooth. Can I sync the F2 with F6 directly, or are they really making me buy some 3rd party device for that?

A: It is not possible to sync the F2 and F6 directly. You will need to use an UltraSync BLUE device by Timecode Systems (available separately) to sync the F2 and F6 to receive and write timecode to recorded files.

Q: 10. Can I purchase the headphones without the earbuds?

A: Yes, the headphones that are bundled in the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Wireless Noise Canceling Headphones Kit with Earbuds (BH # BOQCUHEBEBK) are available separately. See below: Bose QuietComfort Ultra Wireless Noise Canceling Over-Ear Headphones (Black), B&H # BOQCUHEB.

I try to find music for "my sonos" and every artist I put in says not found. I have searched for the beach boys, beatles etc and nothing, It seems harder since I did an update. I am not tech savvy so I just listen to my basic radio and then decided to email, you are hard to reach by phone.I love the product but I like to find stuff for it and I cannot.
