Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. if one uses a 35mm prime lens and need to blow up a region in a negative that was the real subject it would have to be done using an enlarger when printing to the print paper?

A: To enlarge a portion of the image, you would need to either use an enlarger in a darkroom or you can use a film scanner, printer and a computer.

Q: 2. Does this come with an instruction manual?

A: They do not include a paper manual. They do offer the manual to be viewed on a computer via PDF document included on the software with the camera as well as posted on Leica's website.

Q: 3. Is there a case that can be used with an iphone XR? I bought this item and the clip is very unsteady -- even without a case.

A: Unfortunately we do not carry any compatible cases to mount this Monocular. The Smartphone Clip that comes packaged will be the only mounting option Apexel provides.

Q: 4. Can this product be used with a phone that's in a case?

A: The clip with the Apexel 6x20 Monocular can be used with most phone cases. But if the case is too thick, the clip may not be compatible.

Q: 5. What is the material used for the side wrapping? Is it leather or some other type of animal skin?

A: The camera is wrapped in leather.

Q: 6. Does the silver MP come with the rapid rewinder attachment as depicted in the product photos?

A: No, My silver MP didn't come with it. If it comes, it would be great!

Q: 7. What flash unit is compatible with this camera? Preferably a low cost option of one exists.

A: If you are looking for a flash that has manual output control (as the Leica M-A (Typ 127) Rangefinder Camera is not compatible with TTL flashes), then the Bolt VD-410 Manual Flash, B&H # BOMHSF, would be the most economical recommendation, while the Yongnuo YN560-IV Speedlite, B&H # YOYN560IV, would be a much more powerful flash for a slightly higher price output. If you are simply looking for an inexpensive manual flash and do not need output control, then the Holga Holgon Manual Electronic Flash, B&H # HOMF, would be a low-cost option for your needs.

Q: 8. Will this camera show brassing with wear?

A: The black chrome finish M-A will not brass and will look new for a long time. Look up web images of beat up M5 bodies to see how the finish will look after heavy use.

Q: 9. Hi, I am in Australia and would like to know if the warranty is still valid if I buy from you in the USA? Thanks

A: I advise you to check with Leica Australia regarding this issue, however, warranties from manufacturers are typically specific to the country in which the item was purchased from. We do offer an extended service plan through a third party company called Square Trade, which will provide international coverage for either two or three years depending on your preference, and will additionally protect against drops, spills, and other incidents. You can read more about Square Trade here: http://bhpho.to/1fMHaTB

Q: 10. Can you upload to instagram xp

A: The Leica MP 0.72 Analog Rangefinder Camera Body is a film camera that uses 35mm film. To upload images to Instagram, you would first have to have the film developed, then scan the negatives to be placed on a CD-ROM. You may then use the digitized images on the CD to upload to your computer. You may then either use your computer to upload images to Instagram, or you may transfer the images from your computer to your smartphone/tablet to upload to Instagram.

This is a very high quality item that is simple to use with excellent optics. I am a professional photographer and tend to review glass with a critical eye. The Leica doesn't dissappoint and its weight and size are just about perfect. Image stability at 8X isn't an issue if you brace your fingers to your forehead and palm the Mono in the webbing of your thumb and index finger. Mine came with a neckstrap even though I read that it didn't, so I purchased one separately and now have two...

My wife loves it!!! If she had this earlier, she would not have bought the camera she now has. The optics are super clear and the ability to see birds, butterflies and flowers so close is astounding.

The pocket-ability really makes this an easy EDC item. I live near the coast and keep it with me for whale watching. It's also fantastic for when I'm hiking in the forest and don't plan on bringing my camera kit. I had regrettably missed out on a few better views of great horned owls prior to making this purchase.

The close-up filter has really just been a novelty so far, but I do expect to use it on future trips where viewing insect life will feature into my travel plans. In either mode, the image is sharp, clear, and bright!

As some have noted, the stability and depth perception isn't quite the same as a set of comparable binoculars, but that's just what sets monoculars and binoculars apart. As with cameras, the tool you have with you is the right one for the job. I know the Monovid will always be within my reach while binoculars are often left behind for bulk.

A few years ago I only had one working eye but the blurriness in the bad one made binocular viewing uncomfortable and poor. These took care of the problem. They are spectacular. My eye issue has resolved, but I still get a lot of use out of them because of the ease of taking the everywhere. I love looking at nature and this makes it accessible wherever I am.

I only have one working eyeball so why should I buy a binocular, such a waste. I'm also a very frugal person, so when I saw the price of this Leica product, I couldn't believe it. However! Life is short, and I am blessed that at least one eye works. To use this monocular when compared with my two other sub $100 monoculars... the price is definitely justified.

I don't care for compact binoculars and have long considered a quality monocular. It came down to Leica vs. Zeiss and, after a good deal of research, Leica won. I couldn't have made a better choice. The optics and resolution are razor sharp and I easily get a full field of view, even with eyeglasses. Even the case is clever; the macro lens stores right inside the lid.I would buy the Monovid again in a heartbeat and recommend it highly. ...
