• For each microphone, an ever-changing and automatic threshold is continuously calculated. This per-channel threshold has a slow-attack and very fast decay.
• When an incoming microphone’s signal is instantaneously above this threshold it can be turned on. Steady-state sounds (air conditioning, etc.) will not turn on a microphone—only varying speech-like signals does.

• The envelope of all microphone signals is logically compared together to get the instantaneous peak of the loudest microphone.
• Each microphone envelope is continuously compared to this Maxbus; if the envelope is greater (and it meets the NAT criteria), then it is gated on. If a talker speaks into two or more microphones, it will only gate on one of the microphones, eliminating any comb filtering.

• The last used microphone remains on, creating a seamless mix.

• When a microphone is turned off, it does not turn all of the way off, instead it is attenuated by a certain amount, typically 15 dB. This results in a more transparent sound.

• You can use MixAssist at sampling rates of 44.1, 47.952, 48, and 48.048 kHz, and at either 24-bit or 32-bit float bit depth.

Q: 1. Does the pocket that holds four G3 receivers have an exit point for the cables that leads to the main compartment? Id like to use the pocket for the receivers without any cabling outside the bag.

A: The Strut bag for the MixPre-6 has a slot in the back of the pocket so you can route the cables to the inputs within the bag. Id assume the MixPre-3 bag is the same but you want to confirm. Overal Ive been very happy with this bag.

I'm trying to use this MX-LMount battery sled on the MixPre-10 II and getting flashing red ring LEDs on all tracks when powering it on, with either a pair of fully charged genuine Sony NP-F970 batteries attached, or a pair of fully charged genuine Sony NP-F570 batteries attached. MixPre-10 II already has L-Mount selected as battery type in the MixPre-10 II's power menu. No other batteries/power sources are connected. I'm using an approved SD card that has been formatted in the MixPre-10 II. Any idea what could be causing this issue?

A: You can but the MixPre 3 will have more room to move around since the pocket to hold it well be an inch or so bigger.

A: It works fine with any capacity battery. Just keep in mind that the larger the capacity and physical size of the battery, the more awkward the MixPre may get on a tabletop or a bag, because the batteries stick out so far from the sides of the unit.

Q: 8. How many Lectro 411A receivers can this case accomodate? Is there any way to 'hang' these receivers or do they have to lie in the compartment?

A: I would recommend this bag, along with the following item, the Sound Assist SA-4N26 Field Carrying Case, BH #STSA4N26. which can hold up to four wireless receivers. This case can be attached to the STR-MP6 bag.

Q: 9. Do you have to use two batteries at once or can you use one? Also, what's the estimated run time with phantom for the smaller (2900mh) and medium (5000mh) Sony NPF batteries? Thanks.

A: You only need one battery. I use two just because it seems a bit less awkward to handle. Two of the smaller batteries will run the recorder and a couple of mics all day long.

A: No you can power the recorder via USB while recording or via the rechargeable AA batteries, however they need to be charged with their own charger outside the recorder.
