        Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this recommended for birding / bird watching .. how will it perform during low light

A: The classic birding binocular is 42mm, so a 50mm will resolve better in low light.

        Q: 2. Does a refurbished product have a warranty?

A: The Nikon refurbished products have a 90 day warranty. When shopping our site you can always see what is included with an item by viewing the overview tab and finding the “In the Box” listing located on the right hand side of our web page. The length of the warranty is mention in that section. A new Nikon binocular would have: Limited Lifetime Warranty on the Optical System Limited 7-Year Warranty on Non-Optical Components. Limited 1-Year Warranty on Electrical Components, when Applicable

Q: 3. 8x42, 10x42 or 10x50 Which is best for low light or night view of owls etc?

A: Between the 10X42 and the 10X50 the 10X50 will be the brightest because of the larger objective lens. It will also be the largest and heaviest. The 8X42 has less magnification than the 10X42 so it will be brighter.

Q: 4. What color are these binoculars?

A: They are a dark green color.

Q: 5. Can these binoculars be effectively used handheld

A: Yes I use them handheld only. Best binoculars I have ever owned. For long range they are more effective with a hat as I use it for stabilizing.

Q: 6. Made in China or Japan

A: They are Zuiko optics. The best in the industry. Who cares where they are made. . . . I'm pretty sure they are Japanese manufactured, but they are not marked.

Q: 7. Where is the serial number ? I can't find it at the binoculars.

A: It is on the side of the eyepiece.

Q: 8. What type of prism used here- BK7 or BAK-4

A: Looks like BK7 to me.

Q: 9. For moon and stargazing, what reasonable tripod would you recommend to use with the Pentax 10x50 SP WP ?

A: To mount the Pentax 10x50 S-Series SP WP Binoculars on a tripod one needs an adapter like the Pentax TP-3 Tripod Adapter (f/ Binoculars w/ a 1/4"-20 Threaded Tripod Socket), BH #PETAPCFQ (https://bhpho.to/3avpVxS). For a tripod one can use the Vanguard VEO 2 PRO 233AO Aluminum Tripod with PH-28 Tripod Head, BH #VAVEO2P233AO (https://bhpho.to/3PBhmkb).

Q: 10. What is the warranty for this model?

A: The Oberwerk 15x70 Ultra Binoculars include a Limited 2-Year Manufacturer Warranty.

I bought a pair of the Razor 12x50s without ever having looked through a pair. I was nothing short of impressed when I put them to use. Colors pop, images are sharp and clear, they're light and rugged. A very well made binocular that is on the same playing field as European glass for half the price with a better warranty! I've put these to use in New Mexico shed antler hunting, pronghorn hunting, mule deer hunting, elk hunting, oryx (gemsbok) hunting , and have even used them to spot fish in clear streams. These binos have never let me down once and are always up to the task! Can't wait to pair them up with a razor spotting scope for the ultimate combination!

These are so worth the money. I tested them between Swarovski and dusk and I couldn’t tell a difference and I almost thought vortex out performed the Swarovski!!

I purchased a pair of Razor HD 10X42's for Elk Season last year, and just can't say enough about their performance. My Hunting Partner uses a pair of Zeiss Victory 1-X42's, and this gave me a perfect opportunity to compare the two in the field, and to both of our eyes, the Razor HD's did better in low light levels of dense Trees than the Zeiss Victory's. Both had an excellent field of view though, the Vortex Razor's was slightly larger at 362'/1,000yds as opposed to 360'. Form and finish of both were excellent, and obviously built like Tanks. I was truly impressed with the Razor's performance last year, and look forward to many more Hunts with them. As an added bonus, the Razor's were $1,500 less than my Partner paid for his Zeiss Victory's. I don't know how Vortex produces this high of quality of Optics for this price, but I'm a firm believer, and will be upgrading more of my Optics to their products in the future.

I have owned this pair of binoculars for about 6 months. I am very happy with my purchase the glass is clear and they don't fog. The main reason why I chose vortex is because of their awesome warranty they stand behind.

The 8x42 razor hd's are an excellent choice for spot and stalk hunting. This past weekend I used my 12x50 razors hd's to glass up a family of javalina at over 800 yards. I left them on the tripod and took off with only my rifle and my 8x42's around my neck. Stopping to glass every 100 yards or so with my razors I was able to get within 100 yards and make a perfect shot. The clarity and easy one handed operation performed flawless.

These binoculars have very clear glass and thus, the image quality is very clear during early morning or late evening viewing.

I purchased these to use primarily for deer hunting. Low light conditions are usually the best times for deer movement. You've got to be sure of exactly what you're shooting at. The vortex razor binos out perform my Kahles and S&B scopes on my rifles. It also out performs my vortex viper scopes. These are the best binos I've ever owned. And with the warranty, I don't think I'll ever consider owning another brand.

These binos are simply the most heavily utilized piece of outdoor gear that I own. Whether strapped on my chest or thrown in the truck, they are always at my side as a high-quality set of optics that are perfect for picking apart heavy timber or lower open country. Excellent in both high sun and low light conditions and the perfect weight for extended backcountry hunts.
