The LE-60 Leveling Base from Sirui fits between a tripod and video or ball head, and lets the head be quickly adjusted independently from the tripod. It can be used with any tripod or monopod with a 3/8" stud. The LE-60 has a 2.4" platform with an off-set bubble level that can swivel 15° in any direction, and is rated to hold camera systems weighing up to 66.1 pounds. The top platform is compatible with heads with 3/8" or 1/4" mounts.

A: All of our bases are equipped with a standard 3/8-16 tripod socket, but we include a 1/4-20 adapter with every unit we sell. This allows them to work with just about any tripod on the market, even the table top tripods that will allow you to mount your own head. A quick search on the B & H and I am confused too, but I can tell you which ones we have experienced. The FLM CP10, Berlebach Mini Tripod and on the low end Sunwayfoto T1A11-II.

A: Possibly to provide a wider range of adjustment when setting up a tripod on sloped terrain. However, I shoot landscapes in steep terrain often and have not found a need for more adjustment. I have other leveling bases and this is my favorite.

A: Hey Paul,You could mount a ball head with a maximum base diameter of 2.25, and still see/use the bubble level. This Acratech Leveling Base is awesome; superbly made, and quite functional. I use it with an equally superb FLM CB-38 FTII ball head (2.15 base), and it works great. BTW, I can highly recommend it with the FLM CP-26 Travel Tripod! Q: 9. Mechanical drawings available?

A: No mechanical drawings were included with this item. I am not sure if they are available on-line from the manufacturer. The LE-60 Levelling Base does come with it's own allen key, and will fit most tripods. I found it very useful on a shoot outdoors, with my landscape horizons all level, It is a solid piece of equipment, and worked in well between my manfrotto Video head 128RC and my Manfrotto 55CX3 tripod. For heavier video heads, it may not be up to it, but certainly for what I was using it for, it worked perfectly, quite robust and I did not find it difficult to use, once I was familiarised with it. No complaints.

Q: 10. what is the small knob on the acratech leveling base for?
