Q: 1. What is the diameter of the arm itself? 16mm?

A: 14mm

Q: 2. Can this be mounted on a lightstand like this one #IMLS96HABI, If yes how? With the help of an adapter or something?

A: The knuckle offers a 5/8" and 3/8 opening in order to attach to the top of a light stand.

Q: 3. Can you mount casters onto the legs so you can roll the stand around? If so, what size attachment?

A: There are a few C-stands that have wheels as an option, but not this one. However, you could construct a plywood platform and attach wheels to it. Just be sure to figure a way to keep the stand on the platform and balanced. Sands bags are a must when using C-stands for most uses.

Q: 4. I bought 2 of these and have trouble loosening them. When I turn the handles, they come off rather than open the grip head. Anyone know if there's a particular technique or do I have faulty ones?

A: For this inquiry, it would be best to contact the manufacturer, Impact, for further assistance at 212-594-2120.

Q: 5. Would this one be more or less sturdy than the one with the low profile base or not any different? I don't need to put the legs under furniture etc

A: I have mine set up with sand bags and a boom for hair lighting and often use it to hold a large softbox. I find no reason to go with a low profile base even in the small bedroom I shoot in sometimes.

Q: 6. Is this stand spring loaded?

A: No, it's not.

Q: 7. What option would I need to add a microphone thread to the end of this arm? Wanting to add a shotgun mic to this setup. Thank you!

A: You can use this mount. https://bhpho.to/3dG5PyW

Q: 8. is this just an arm or an arm with a head?

A: If you are looking at item Impact KCP240 40 EXTENSION GRIP ARM B&H# IMKCP240 : Mfr# KCP240 then that is JUST an arm. If you would like to mount this to a stand then also get Impact KCP200 2.5 GRIP HEAD (CHROME) B&H# IMKCP200 : Mfr# KCP200 . These are good products and I have two sets of each. I hope B&H pays me handsomely for working on their behalf.

Q: 9. Would this hold two LG 34UM59-P 34 21:9 FreeSync IPS MonitorLG 34UM59-P 34 ?

A: Yes it will hold; two of the LG 34UM59-P 34 21:9 FreeSync IPS Monitor B&H # LG34UM59P.

Q: 10. Is this too heavy for a manfrotto 1052bac?

A: It is compatible but if you use it extended it might tip. And in general I would use it with a sand bag.And if you do you should use it with another grip.Note that an arm like that is not made for heavy items like studio strobes. It is really made for cards, gobos and smaller lights like speedlights. For heavier items it is best to use a boom. And those can be boom arms, boom kits or boom stand combos. But the boom arms you should use a heavier and stronger stand.
