Apple silicon has arrived to the Apple Mac Pro. Now featuring the M2 Ultra 24-Core CPU, the Mac Pro allows creative professionals to tackle the most demanding workflows with speed and efficiency. Combined with a 60-Core GPU and 128GB of unified RAM with 800 GB/s of memory bandwidth, the Mac Pro has the performance of seven Afterburner cards built-in. The media engine in the M2 Ultra can handle up to 22 streams of 8K ProRes video. The 2TB SSD allows for fast boot and load times.
Upgrade the Mac Pro with ease, thanks to its six PCIe Gen 4.0 slots. There are two PCIe Gen 4.0 x16 slots and four PCIe Gen 4.0 x8 slots. There is also a half-length PCIe Gen 3.0 x4 slot that is occupied by the Apple I/O card. Speaking of I/O, the Mac Pro features eight Thunderbolt 4 ports, all with 40 Gb/s data throughput and DisplayPort support. Connect to the internet via the dual 10 Gigabit Ethernet LAN jacks or go wireless with Wi-Fi 6E (802.11ax). Bluetooth 5.3 allows you to connect compatible devices wirelessly.
The Mac Pro comes with the Magic Keyboard with Touch ID and Numeric Keypad and the Magic Mouse. All you need is a display to get started. You also don't have to stop at one screen since the Mac Pro can support up to eight 4K 60 Hz displays, six 6K 60 Hz displays, or three 8K 60 Hz displays.
Please note that this Mac Pro features a rackmount design with airflow-maximizing 3D lattice and stainless steel handles on the front and tool‑less stainless steel slide rails in place of feet or optional wheels.
This Mac comes preloaded with macOS. Updates can be downloaded for free via the Mac App Store. Please check Apple's website for upgrade eligibility.

The M2 Ultra is built from two M2 Max dies connected through UltraFusion, which is Apple's custom-built packaging technology. UltraFusion uses a silicon interposer that connects the dies with more than 10,000 signals, providing over 2.5 TB/s of low latency interprocessor bandwidth. UltraFusion's architecture enables the M2 Ultra to appear as a single chip to software. This means code doesn't need to be rewritten to utilize the extreme performance of the M2 Ultra.
The 24-Core CPU of the M2 Ultra consists of 16 next-gen performance cores and eight next-gen high-efficiency cores, delivering up to 20% faster performance than its predecessor, the M1 Ultra. Combined with a 60-core GPU and 128GB of unified RAM with 800 GB/s of unified memory bandwidth, this Mac Pro has the performance of not just one, but seven Afterburner cards built-in. It also features the industry-leading media engine, allowing playback of up to 22 streams of 8K ProRes video.
Combine Apple silicon performance with the versatility of PCI expansion. The Mac Pro features six PCIe Gen 4.0 slots, which provide twice the bandwidth for audio and video I/O, networking, and storage cards. There are two double-height PCIe Gen 4.0 x16 slots, two single-height PCIe 4.0 x8 slots, and two double-height PCIe 4.0 x 8 slots. There is also a half-length PCIe 3.0 x4 slot that is occupied by the Apple I/O card.
The Mac Pro offers a wide array of connectivity, starting with eight Thunderbolt 4 ports, which support up to 40 Gb/s data transfer rates and DisplayPort. There are also two HDMI ports that support high-bandwidth 48 Gb/s HDMI, enabling resolutions up to 8K and refresh rates up to 240 Hz. The two USB-A ports can handle legacy USB devices while the 3.5mm audio jack provides headphone support. There are also wireless connectivity enhancements, such as Wi-Fi 6E (802.11ax) and Bluetooth 5.3. You can also opt for a reliable, wired connection via the dual 10 Gigabit Ethernet LAN jacks.
The Mac Pro maintains its unique stainless steel space frame, removable aluminum housing, and advanced thermal system. The chassis is solid and stable. And thanks to the power efficiency of Apple silicon, the Mac Pro runs even cooler and quieter under heavy workloads.
Thousands of pro apps are optimized for Apple silicon. Because macOS was designed to scale with Apple silicon, the M2 Ultra brings a huge boost in app performance and capability to Mac Pro. And there are thousands of apps optimized to unlock the full power of Apple silicon. From rendering effects to compositing 8K scenes to analyzing enormous data sets, your go-to apps run faster and smoother than ever.

The Mac Pro was designed with the environment in mind, including 100 percent recycled rare earth elements in all magnets, and 100 percent recycled gold plating and tin soldering in multiple printed circuit boards. The Mac Pro also uses far less energy than desktop computers in the same class, and over 40 percent less than the ENERGY STAR efficiency requirement. The Mac Pro is free of mercury, PVC, beryllium, and over 95 percent of the packaging is fiber based.

Q: 4. I currently have a 27 iMac. Is there a way I can use it's display with the Mac Pro?
A: Hey Ronney,Yes and no and here is why.You can not go full screen but you can connect to each other by wifi or ethernet and then go to finder window and share screen.you can share the Mac Pro's screen on the iMac this way.You may want to start the Mac Pro up first using hdmi and a tv and then share screen.Good luck.Walt
Q: 5. Can you add memory later?
A: Yes, I immediately swapped my memory and put 64GB - not too large of an investment (I used a reputable aftermarket company that will take the old memory in trade). My thought is this, buy the base model (4 core) and when the 12 core CPU comes down in price you have a plug and play 4X throughput improvement (not 4x the speed for every application - only if the app is written for multithread operations) - 12 core is also great if you run lots of concurrent applications. Get a fast thunderbolt external drive for storage. My favorite computer over the last 30 years (love the design, super powerful and no white noise) and I've been building systems since high end was adding a 8087 math coprocessor to your 4.77MHz 8088 PC... (On a side note 64GB of ram would have cost $24,000,000 when I first started playing with these types of toys)

A: This product has a one year, limited manufacturer's warranty and original box.
Q: 8. good for video editing?Thanks.
A: I had a top of the line iMac and switched over to the Pro, Well worth the money. The first key is to buy as much memory as you can afford....64GB if possible. Second key is buying the hottest graphics card available....then it domes down to how many cores. More cores handle more threads. Video is nothing but threads of data so more cores is better. I love my Pro and as soon as thy come out with the next generation I will be in line to buy it. This thing is hot hot hot
Q: 9. Mac OS X El Capitan or macOS Sierra comes in this computer do you get a choice? Will this with either OS's work with Final Cut Pro 7?
A: It came with Sierra we reformatted the drive and put El Capitan on it witch will run Final Cut 7 I herd Sierra won't run 7 we switched to Adobe and its pretty similar.
Q: 10. does anybody has found a solution to solve the very slow video encoding because there is no quicksync accelaration?thks
A: One very useful tip is to make sure you have avx2 enabled.
