  • Mantis has two rows of 104 HP for you to rack your modules. It comes fully powered and assembled, just drop in your modules and play.
  • Module Depth: 2.0" (upper row), 2.4" (lower row)
  • Using its sophisticated leg mechanism, you can set it to three different positions: 0, 45, and 90 degrees.
  • With Mantis, say bye-bye to the tedious, never-ending calculation of current consumption for the ±12V power. Mantis comes with a juicy Zeus power supply that delivers plenty of power both now and for the future.
  • Mantis comes with real Z-Rails made according to Eurorack enclosure standards. No sliding nuts or wrong spacing. It also has keyed power connectors to help protect your modules from damage from plugging the power in in reverse.
  • Weighing only 6.5 lb, Mantis is so light, traveling has never been so relaxed.
  • Mantis Studio Brackets: Using the optional bracket accessory Mantis can be tripled up to 624 HP. Multiply your Mantis' and watch your studio setup grow.
  • Optional Mantis Bag: Padded travel bag is designed as a backpack and uses waterproof material that keeps the elements out too. The bag opens up fully for easy access and features a padded interior to protect your Mantis and has enough room to add an optional Decksaver cover, which lets you transport your Mantis patched up to two Stackcables high.

Zeus Power

  • The top row has two sections, A and B:
  • Section A—Upper left side +12V 1000mA
  • Section B—Upper right side +12V 1000mA
  • Section C—The lower socket row +12V 1000mA
  • The -12V and +5V are shared with all three zones

Dual DC Ports

  • The power jack on top of your Mantis is for use when the case is lying flat. The power jack on the bottom of the back of the case is intended for use when setting the Mantis to the 45- or 90-degree upright positions. Using the bottom power jack when the case is upright allows the power adapter to lay on the table which prevents strain from the weight of a hanging power supply.

The SyncBus signal distribution connector offers the future possibility of synchronizing Tiptop Audio sequencers in separate Mantis cases with expanded capabilities compared to using simple patch cables. Although not fully developed, the SyncBus allows the Mantis case to be future-ready as Tiptop Audio develops these potential capabilities. Only connect to the external SyncBus connector using genuine Tiptop Audio products.

Q: 1. Can this meter be used for very low light night shots? I have a meter in my old Mamiya Sekor 1000 DTL but I can't read it when it's too dark out, because it's a black needle (if I could get to it I would paint it with some glow in the dark paint).

A: Probably not, you are much better off with a meter that has an LCD readout with backlight. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1390250-REG/sekonic_401_305_l_308x_u_flashmate_light_meter.html

Q: 2. Will a CG4 or LX70 EQ mount attach to this tripod?

A: Yes, they will

Q: 3. What is the length and width of this case

A: Canon does not furnish dimensions for this product. However we do know that it will accommodate a product with measurements of: 1.5 x 12.3 x 2.2 (3.8 x 31.2 x 5.6 cm)

Q: 4. Dose it fits to do a light measures for medium format film camera? (Mamiya RZ67)

A: Absolutely. Light meters like the Sekonic L-208 measure light in relation to aperture, shutter speed, and ASA/ISO. Format has no bearing on exposure respective to these variables. It will also fit nicely in the RZ67's hotshoe using its convenient accessory mounting shoe.

Q: 5. What's the maximum height of this tripod, please? How low is the lowest to the ground that's possible? What's the fold-down size? The weight?

Q: 6. Would a CG-5 or Advanced GT fit on this tripod?

A: Weight wise it should work. Depending on the OTA's mount you may need the Explore Scientific iEXOS-100 Mount Azimuth Adjuster Adapter BH #EXES100AZADJ • MFR #ES100AZADJ-02

Q: 7. Does this work on a Chromebook?

A: I contacted the manufacturer and confirmed that the Tempo SK mic is indeed compatible for use with a Chromebook.

Q: 8. Can I mount this on a traditional grip head with a boom arm?

A: That particular combination is unknown. It is our opinion that as long as you test it, that the grip head should be able to hold this plate. We also think that using a Super Clamp would be a better interface. Manfrotto 035RL Super Clamp with Standard Stud B&H # MA035RL

Q: 9. I have never used a light meter. would this meter be good for a beginner?

A: Depends on your needs. If you need to measure the brightness of a manually set flash (studio type), the L-308S-U is the place to start. The L-208 and L-398 read ambient light (sun or artificial indoor lights) and cannot read the brightness of a flash. That said, Mastering a L-208 will teach you a lot about lighting and using a meter. It will help you to learn the relationship of shutter speeds to apertures to ISO settings. And that knowledge will help make you a better photographer. It depends on how much you want to dive into the numbers of photography. That said you should check out the Classroom section of a href= http://sekonic.com target= _blank sekonic.com/a to see all kinds of articles and videos on using meters to control lighting. You can also see a demonstration of how the L-208 operates.

Q: 10. Can this meter be used for video recording? Is the answer "Yes, but it's better to pay a little more for a better meter."

A: It simply depends on your needs and your budget. According to Sekonic's website, the Sekonic L-208 Twin Mate can be used for cine usage needs. You can get more features with a higher-end model such as the Sekonic L-308X-U Flashmate Light Meter, B&H # SEL308XU, which has dedicated Cine and HD Cine modes and allows you to choose video frame rates between 8-128 fps with one-tenth of a stop accuracy. However, if you are using standard shutter speeds from 1/8000 to 30 Seconds, plus 1/800, 1/400, 1/200, 1/100, 1/50, 1/25, 1/10, 1/5, then the Sekonic L-208 Twin Mate would work for videography usage needs.

It does everything it says, and well. I haven't had to change the battery until recently, which has been a good 3 years of use. Not heavy use, but used often more than not. I've never had any problems with this meter. I haven't had the opportunity to use any other meters for more than an hour, so I can't really compare, but for a totally bare bones meter you can't go wrong. It's very compact, fits in my pocket easily which is a big plus, I personally don't like it sitting in the hot shoe. It's a little flimsy, but not overly so. It hasn't broken on my yet, but it's all lightweight plastic. Reads fast.

I use this light meter for my Polaroid 110B conversion. It works great. No problems at all. I can get quick readings because the numbers are large and easy to read. I like the battery test Indicator, you can tell if you need a new battery at an instant.

Very small, compact, lightweight - analog meter provides precise enough readings for street photography (exactly what I needed it for). I would have preferred a no-battery meter, but battery lasts forever anyway.

At this price range the L-208 is King. Compact and light, it fits any pocket or purse and is ready for use. I found the measurement to be accurate to within 1/2 a stop and ideal for situations where you might use a camera body that does not give facility for electronic metering for non-cpu lenses. In the box is a hot shoe mount handy if you wish you fit this meter to your camera and a neck strap is also included. Unbeatable price, terrific value

Perfectly functional ambient light meter, very small and light. I've owned two so far; one of them needed a shim to hold the battery reliably in place. Aside from that, no problems. You'd think that being carried loose in a pocket the clear plastic would be scratched, but that hasn't been my experience. Anyway, mine go everywhere with me.

I shoot digital but also classic cameras. No meters on the old ones. I have just purchased my second L-208. Now I have one to mount on a camera and one to use hand held. They are accurate and rugged plus the price is right. Analog lives!

I just traveled to Russia with a bag full of old 120 cameras and this great little light meter. It is fast and easy to use, sturdy, light and inexpensive enough to travel without worry. I did some test rolls with it and got consistently good readings. I was planning to get the much more expensive Sekonic L-385, but I'm happy to have saved the money with this reliable basic meter.

This is a compact easy to use light meter. I use it primarily for landscapes with a tlr. Highly recommended.
