Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. WILL THIS WORK WITH usb 2.0?

A: Yes, the MuxLab SDI to USB 3.0 Video Capture & Streamer works with USB 2.0.

Q: 2. What is the overall length of this plate?Does it come in different lengths?

A: The overall length of the Wimberly Module 8 M-8 is 3 and inches. It does not currently come in different lengths.

Q: 3. Does this camera pan tilt zoom? Do I need a controller to do so?

A: Yes, the following item does support PTZ functionality.

Q: 4. Can this or any other sensor be used to trigger video, not stills, on a Sony a7S or a7S2?

A: This is from the HAHNEL website:When it is used for camera remote control, the Captur mimics the action of the shutter button on the camera body. If it is possible to start/stop video recording using the shutter button on the camera body, then this can be done remotely also using the Captur. If video record start/stop is not possible using the shutter button, as is the case for most DSLRs, then it cannot be achieved by the Captur either.

Q: 5. If this works on a hot shoe, would it work for older film SLRs?

A: The hotshoe is only for mounting the trigger on the Camera and there is no Data transfer there. Film Cameras used a Cable Release to trigger the shutter. So, I do not think the Hahnel Trigger would work.

Q: 6. I need to freeze action (mountain bikers) in daylight using the sun as backlight and the flash to fill the shadows. From what I have been reading, this will only work at full power, which isn't necessarily an issue, since I'll be out doors I can move the light further or closer to my subject. Is this the best solution for my canon 6D (I know it's not the best for sports but it's what I've got) and pcbuf einstein combo? Right now, it's the cheapest option, besides buying a mirrorless or one of those expensive profoto all in one dealys.

A: Good question, the Einstein will certainly freeze the action at full power under strobe only, but if your only using it to fill in shadows then I doubt it will work as the maximum sync speed is pretty much limited to 1/250th they say 1/400th but i've never had any luck with that. And if your just filling in the shadows you will get too much motion if the bike is at spped.

Q: 7. What format is the recording?

A: HDMI (4:4:4) 1080p: 60 fps USB Type-A 1080p: 24/25/30 fps 1080i: 50/60 fps 720p: 50/60 fps 576p: 50 fps 480p: 60 fps

Q: 8. Will it work with the Pentax K-1?

A: No, it will not work with the Pentax K-1. The system is compatible for use with Canon, Nikon, Sony, and Olympus/Panasonic cameras.

Q: 9. I have a Canon EOS 6D. I want a wireless intervalometer to do time-lapse, but want the ability to expand into external triggers in the future. If I buy a Captur Pro, will a Receiver Module do this or do I need the Transmitter/Receiver set? Or if I buy a Captur Timer for Canon now, would the Receiver part of it work with the Pro if I bought a Pro in the future? I dont quite understand how the Pro interfaces with the camera. Thanks

A: The needs for you are the receiver the pro module and the cable set. http://www.hahnel.ie/irish-shop/captur_cable_pack_for_canon/http://www.hahnel.ie/irish-shop/captur_canon_receiver/http://www.hahnel.ie/irish-shop/captur_module_pro/if you purchase the captur for canon or the timer kit for canon all pieces are needed to expand using the pro module.

Q: 10. How wide is the IR beam? If someone could tell me how many degrees wide it is or just a good guess that would be great. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!James B.Thanks!

A: The beam width from the transmitter varies depending on the power setting and the distance to the receiver. For example, if the distance to the receiver is about 20 feet and the transmitter power is at high, the angle of width is about 30 degrees. Closer it is wider. On the low setting, it is about 10 degrees or less. Aiming it is not an issue. As for breaking the beam, it is a very narrow zone like less than 1 degree in each direction. Basically, the subject has to break line of sight between the transmitter and receiver.
