The Digitalinx HDMI over Twisted Pair Extender Set with Power and Control is a transmitter and receiver set that allows you to transmit a HDMI signal, bidirectional IR control, and RS-232 control up to 230' over a single Cat 6 or greater cable. It supports resolutions up to 1080p and 4K, and 3D video. 4K can be transmitted up to 131'.

Only one power supply is required, connected at either the transmitter or receiver end, as one unit will transmit power to the other. An 18V power supply with a screw-on connector is included. Two IR emitter cables, two IR receiver cables, and two pairs of mounting brackets are also included. The individual transmitter and receiver units are not compatible with other HDBaseT devices due to proprietary PoE circuitry.

Q: 1. is the extender IP based? is it able to be fed through a switch in its own VLAN? or does it have to be a direct connection on both ends?

A: My assumption is that it would need to be a direct connection. I have not tried it on a vlan. Based on the information on their site, it would need to be directly connected, as it seems to encode the signal and send it over the copper to be decoded at the other end by the receiver.

Q: 2. Will this support 1920x1200?

A: System Range : 1080i,1080p, at different distances and BC-DGKat 524.

Q: 3. Do both (transmitter and receiver) need power ? or ONLY one of them?

A: Yes, both the transmitter and receiver will need to be powered. It will come with 2 AC power supplies.

Q: 4. This states that it has a fixed IP address. So would this work to a convert an HDMI video single to an addressable IP source that could be input to a Tricaster 410 IP connection directly, and then used as one of the two network sources?

A: No, you would convert HDMI to SDI and run the SDI cable to go to the TC410; Ocean Matrix does make that as well; you can bridge production and security systems this way as well--AL

A: It is a wall-wart style DC power adapter.

I upgraded to the Ocean Matrix because the other brand I had was inconsistent in it's connection and it was frustrating. I use these with my Canon XA45 Camera and we extend 150 feet with no problem. LOVE IT! 5

we just added a Crestron Mercury system in some of our conference rooms. This adapter will allow the few users who have laptops that don't HDMI, but have Display port connections to be able to utilize our equipment. Thank you! 5

We have 2 TVs in a High School that we use for digital signage. We had used other vga over ethernet adapters but we ran into picture quality issues. Using these with an additional receiver we were able to hook these up to our network switch and had no issues. Picture and audio quality is perfect. Since we use managed network switches we created its own VLAN for 3 ports so other network traffic was not effected. If you don't use managed switches buy a cheap $40 5 port switch and it's a plug and play installation. I like the suggestion from another reviewer about having these devices having the option for power over ethernet. Anything that doesn't require a separate power adapter is handy. 5
