Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this a mono XLR or a 2 channel XLR cable?

A: Not sure. I ASSUMED 2 channel, but I didn't do anything to test that assumption.

Q: 2. My JBL audio speakers are separated 43 inches approx. What is the distance maximum between each XLR connecter in this cable??

A: About 36" apart.

Q: 3. I'm getting a hum with this cable when connecting directly from a microphone to an amp-- how to resolve?

A: In order to assist you we will need you to provide more details about the microphone that you are using and the amplifier that you are connecting to. These are important factors that need to be taken into consideration to determine whether there may be a compatibility issue, a problem with grounding, or if you may need a different cable or something else. Please contact us by phone or through live chat on the website and we will be happy to help.

Q: 4. (1) Can you give the specific pin wiring for this cable? I need pins 2-3-1 of the Neutrik XLR wired respectively to the Tip, Ring, and Sleeve of the mini plug for use with a RED Epic microphone input from standard XLR mic out.(2) Is the angle of the cable out of the Neutrik connector user-adjustable to different positions? I would need the cable to outlet at a counterclockwise right angle to the standard configuration shown in the photo.(3) How flexible is the cable? It appears so thick that it would lack malleability in a 1.5 foot length.

A: The Hosa MXM-001.5RS is wired to the standard, Pin 2 to Tip, Pin 3 to Ring, Pin 1 to Sleeve. The XLR connector is non rotating and oriented according to the photo provided. The conductors are 24 gauge allowing some flexibility in the cable.

Q: 5. If this is used with a pair of mics, will the recorded signal from each be blended, or will the two signals be hard panned left and right?

A: Never tried it. I've always used these for getting stereo output from an iPad or iPod into a console. Sorry I couldn't answer your question.

Q: 6. Does this cable allow for both L/R channels to remain separate (allowing a L/R panned mix to stay L/R when input to a DSLR)?

A: Yes, it's designed to take a stereo signal and split it into separate L&R outputs. Best regards, Hosa Support.

Q: 7. I have a rode Na1-2 mic and was wondering if a XRL to 3.5 mm jack would let me use the mic with my Macbook pro? thanks!

A: You would want a female XLR end for the mic, so a XVM-101F, but it could technically work if your computer has a 3.5mm mic input. Best regards, Hosa support.

Q: 8. Is this cable balanced?

A: The Hosa Technology MXM-015 Camcorder Microphone Cable (XLR Female) is an unbalanced cable.

Q: 9. Does this work for recording line-in to a zoom h4n recorder?

A: Yes it should,

Q: 10. I am looking at a Rode NTG-2 microphone to use on a boom pole. Would this be the correct cable to use for extending the distance? The NTG-2 comes with a Kopul LMT100. Would it be better to purchase a cable that has a male and female mini and use it in conjunction with the Kopul cable.

A: I dad to return this particular one because of a defect. But this is the correct cable for you.

Great adapter! I haven't had any problems with it. It is nice to have this adapter especially in those situations where no one tells you what end of the cable they have.

Not much else... does the job. It won't withstand a truck running over it, but if you're careful it's sturdy enough.
