Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Please recommend me low light lense?

A: If you are looking for a telephoto zoom lens for low-light photography needs, then the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II Lens, B&H # NI7020028, would work for your needs. The Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8 Di LD (IF) Macro AF Lens for Nikon AF, B&H # TA7020028MN, is the most economical option that has a constant f/2.8 aperture for low light telephoto zoom needs. If you are simply looking for an inexpensive low-light lens, and it does not have to be a telephoto lens or a zoom lens, then the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G Lens, B&H # NI5018GAF, would work for your needs.

Q: 2. Is this good for a Nikon D80?

A: yes

Q: 3. Is this lens compatible with Nikon D7100?

A: I don't know for sure, but would imagine so. I bought it for my D-3100. It as worked great...was my son's HS tennis team photographer this fall.

Q: 4. Will this lense work with a Nikon D-50?

A: On the internet, look up Nikon's website for your location. They have a chart showing which lenses are compatible with which camera bodies. The short answer is Yes. But check it out for yourself first.

Q: 5. Is this lens compatible with Nikon D5300?

A: Yes, the lens has a build in motor to drive the auto focus.

Q: 6. Can I put this on Lay away?

A: I apologize, but we do not offer a layaway plan. You do however have the option to use PayPal Credit, which allows 6 months interest free. More information on PayPal Credit can be found at the following link: a href= http://bit.ly/1ee2Ner target= _blank http://bit.ly/1ee2Ner/a

Q: 7. Does this work with the d5200?

Q: 8. Is it possible to add a teleconverter 1.4x or 2x , and still get crisp tripod mounted images?

A: yes. There is very little, if any, fall off in sharpness.

Q: 9. Having purchased this lens do you feel like someday purchasing its brother 600mm or do you feel comfortable with it's results, weight, image quality and purchase price?

A: The difference in this lens 500mm and the 600mm version is not that much if anything in terms of optics. If you need the extra 100mm than the 600mm will be a better lens for that shot.

Q: 10. If i were to use this lens on a DX format camera, would there be a difference in quality than by using a lens that is already in Dx format?

A: FX and DX format lenses will function identically on a DX camera body. In terms of quality, that really depends on a lens by lens comparison. That being said, the AF-S 70-300mm lens does have better optical quality than the two DX telephoto zoom lenses Nikon makes.

I'm no pro, so this is a good starter zoom lens for my Nikon D3000. It performs as expected, operates smoothly, and interfaces with the camera's software in a predictable fashion. It's best for situations that have some space about them like a backyard or neighborhood or a large gathering. For closer quarters I need to revert to the 18-55 mm lens (no zoom) that came with the camera kit. I'm very happy with my choice. I hope to be able to afford a true telephoto lens some day.

I use this lens for sports and wildlife photography. It has nice reach to bring those shots right to you. Image stabilization is very good for hand holding.

I thought the Nikon 200-400mm f/4 was a nice lens until I received the 600m f/4 lens. But the wait was well worth it. Takes fantastic photos that are sharp and clear. Auto focus works especially with the TC14EII 1.4X Teleconverter which pumps it to 850mm. Even with the Nikon TC-17EII 1.7X and TC-2EII 2.0X Teleconverter with manual focus it produces clear photos. Used TC-2EII 2.0X Teleconverter to photograugh Bald Eagles with D3x in DX Mode at 1800mm and about 300+ yards. The Wimberley Head is a must with wildlife. This is the best lens I have every owned. It is well worth the price and the wait. Had to make a cradle filler with foam for it so pressure is not put on D3x with lens attached in transporting it.

This lens has a great focal range on Nikon DX bodies. I bought it for wildlife and some landscape use, but it shines as a general do it all lens! Thanks to the excellant VR function, pics are nice and sharp. Great build and feel to the lens. Works flawlessly.

I have had the lens only for a couple of weeks and have taken about 2000 shots. I am very happy with it. With the D300:The 500 takes the TC14 extremely well, the TC17 very well. The picture quality with the TC20 is also excellent. The focusing speed is outstanding both on the D300 and on the D700. I was able to handhold and AF with the TC17 and the TC20. The focusing with the 20 surprised me. The VR function allows me to handhold down to 1/150 s. I found that the IQ of the lens TC combinations is even better with the D700 than with the D300. I have not had time to try the lens with a tripod, because I shoot handheld almost all the time. Birds in flight are my preferred tarets, and the lens is just ideal for this purpose. I am carrying the lens using its tripod foot. It is have and provides a good upper body and arms workout. If I don't have to hike too far, I shoot with my two favorite lens camera combinations: D300 with the 500 mm, and D700 with the 200-400 for closer shots. For extremely high speeds of 1/2000 and shorter with higher ISO I use the D700. There is one thing I have a hard time figuring out and that is the memory set function. I have played around with it but something seems to escape me. I haven't figured it out with my other lenses either.

ease of use, great that the hood reverses on the lens, so you always have it with you.

I'm enjoying using this 55-200mm lens with my new Nikon D-90 digital camera. I wanted new camera equipment for a long time and I'm glad I chose Nikon as I like the bayonet mount and the ability to choose manual zoom with automatic focus. With this lens, I got a wonderful family photo and also zoomed in on grandchildren's antics as well as nature's beauty.
