A picture in the June 1995 issue of the New Musical Express magazine shows Noel Gallagher playing a heavily customized AC30 amp at the Locomotive Studios. The amplifier is now part of the Made In Rock collection. It has serial number 7368B, so the model is a mid to late 1963 edition. It is equipped with a pair of Blue Bulldog 30W Alnico speakers.

Made-In-Rock is an organization which manages a vast collection of items related to the history of rock, including musical instrument, guitar and bass amplifiers and cabinets, effects, clothing, and stage items owned by legendary artists who made the history of rock, as well as magazines, posters, fliers, tickets, and books of that era. The purpose is to preserve those items and bring their knowledge to younger generations

Also called schematic-assisted capturing, Overloud’s Fluid Capturing is an innovative amp simulation process that combines the advantages of both the modeling and capturing techniques. An amp capture is a super-realistic but static picture of the amp sampled with a particular knob setting and operating level.

A single capture cannot replicate the amp tone at all the knob settings. Instead, a modelled amp reacts like the original, at all dynamic ranges and knob positions. However tone may not 100% match a particular sample, due to component tolerances, tube conditions, servicing history and customizations. With Fluid Capturing, Overloud both models the amp and samples it with lot many settings. Putting together these data points allows them to create a digital model which is flexible like a modeled amp and realistic like a captured amp.

The TH-U NG30 head emulates all the three Channels of the original '63 AC30. The Normal channel has a standard voicing, with a tight tone ranging from super clean to mid crunchy tones. The Brillant channel reduces the energy on the low end, very musically, adding a lot of presence and helping to balance the crunch tone. It is not a Top Boost amplifier, and it can be boosted using the overdrive pedals included in the pack.

The Vibrato/Tremolo channel enables the modulation circuit. The selector allows you to choose between the Vibrato modulation, which slightly changes the pitch, and the Tremolo modulation, which recreates the classic Vox pulsating tone.

The built-in cabinet is based on the Vox Blue Bulldog 30W Alnico speakers. They deliver a very brilliant tone, which is slightly attenuated by the piece of cloth added to this particular amp, making it truly unique. It has been captured with 18 microphones with high-resolution nonlinear IRs; thanks to Overloud Fluid Convolution, you can place up to 4 microphones in the 3D space around the cab and blend them with custom IRs. The ReSPiRe option adds the feeling of standing nearby the cabinet.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. what lens filter can I use?

A: The lens has a 43mm filter thread.

Q: 2. How is this latest version optically different from the one prior version that was slightly longer?

A: The key difference between the Leica Summilux-M 50mm f/1.4 ASPH. Lens and the previous version is the newly incorporated aspherical element. One aspherical element is incorporated within the optical design, along with anomalous partial dispersion and high refractive index glass elements, to control aberrations and distortions at all aperture and focus positions.

Q: 3. Is there a protective filter that will fit this lens and still allow you to use the lens hood?

A: Yes. Any of Leica's 46mm filters work perfectly with it and do not impede with pulling out the lens hood. For the UVa II filter, that would be B&H # LEUVAIIE46B, Leica cat# 13033 in black.

Q: 4. Can I use with my 246 monochrome as the Leica Normal 50mm f/1.4 Summilux M Aspherical Manual Focus Lens (6-Bit, Updated for Digital) - Black?

A: Yes. The Leica 50mm Summilux-M f/1.4 ASPH. Black chrome limited-edition is a perfect match for the black chrome Leica M Monochrom Typ 246. The lens designer, Peter Karbe, says it is actually an APO design, so its outstanding performance is expected. What I like that is reminiscent of the 1959 design is the knurled focusing ring instead of a tab like the E46 50mm Summilux-M. One drawback about this incredible lens is that you cannot mount the lens hood with a 43mm filter attached to the lens. I have suggested a solution to Leica, which they are considering, but in the meantime, you can do the following. From B&H, order a Heliopan 40.5-43mm step-up ring (#270). It is 4mm x 45mm. Lay it flat on a piece of medium grit sand paper so that you can sand it to the finished size of 3mm x 45mm, and it will fit perfectly inside the outer prongs lens hood. You can now screw any 43mm filter into the Heliopan step up ring. Screw the filter into the step-up ring mounted on the lens hood before you mount the lens hood on the lens itself so you do not damage the front element of the lens. This may sound complicated, but it's not. I will post some photographs on the Leica Forum website this week.

Q: 5. What is the difference with this lens and the Leica Summilux-M 50mm f/1.4 ASPH. Lens that has the lens hood that is attached?

A: Optically the Leica Summilux-M 50mm f/1.4 ASPH. Lens (Black-Chrome Edition) (MFR #11688) is the same as the Leica Summilux-M 50mm f/1.4 ASPH. Lens (Black) (MFR #11891) with the attached hood. The difference is cosmetic. As part of a limited edition of 500 pieces, this black-chrome finish Summilux-M 50mm f/1.4 ASPH. lens features a matte black exterior as well as an outer design that resembles the first edition of this lens from 1959. Other distinct design elements include a scalloped focusing ring, red-colored focusing distance scale in feet, and a finely-knurled aperture ring. In addition to the unique appearance of the lens, this edition also includes a metal front lens cap as well as a metal round lens hood.

Q: 6. Could I use third party filter on this len? I heard the len incompatible with third party filter.

A: This lens is compatible with third party filters such as this one. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/636455-REG/B_W_66_098994_46mm_Natural_Clear_007.html

Q: 7. I just got this lens and I absolutely loved it! But here is a question, is this lens weather/dust sealed?

A: Yes, the Leica 50mm f/1.4 Summilux is weather/dust sealed.

Q: 8. We have a kit similar to BH #BLURSABCCPLK with a Fujinon LA16x8BRM-XB1A. Will this kit give us control of this lens's zoom and focus?

A: We have not tested that specific pairing. The recommended kit for that lens is https://bhpho.to/3esjA4Z

Q: 9. Will this fully work with the Panasonic HPX250?

A: Yes, assuming it has the 2 different sized mini jack's.

Q: 10. I'm looking for to use Leica Summilux on Panasonic GH4. Has anyone owned or used it on Pansonic that can give me how its performance on the Panasonic body? I just return the Leica SuperElmar 21mm b/c it's not clear as the Panasonic Leica Nocticron 1.2 on the Panasonic GH4 body. Thanks all.

A: It looks like a novoflex adapter exists for this application. Google Novoflex adapter finder .

I bought this for use in recording/streaming high school ice hockey with a Panasonic CX-350 video camera. It's a great addition to my kit. Highly recommend it for one-handed control of smooth zooms and tripod movements. Now that I have it, It's instantly a critical component to ensure professional results. The servo zoom is awesome as I can smoothly go from a slow crawling zoom to a fast zoom just by adjusting the pressure applied to the zoom rocker. If in doubt, just buy it. You won't regret it.

Firstly, before purchasing this product I called the manufacturer to verify that the product is made in the U.S. (I had seen a knock-off brand for about 1/4 the price that was made in China). Realizing that BH has customers from all over the world, for those who are looking for a product made in the U.S., this fits the bill and is made entirely in Austin, Texas.
When the product arrived, I was surprised by how small it was. The photo on BH website made me think it was larger and having never used one, I didn't know what to expect. The unit is only 3 wide so it doesn't take up much space at all.
The unit feels solid and appears to be well-made. The controls all work as expected and the zoom control is pressure-sensitive and can easily be used to create a very slow zoom in or out.
The focus control works well but is a little touchy, as some other reviewers have pointed out. This is a product of the camera (Panasonic UX-180) and not a fault in the unit. Careful operation will achieve focus.
Overall, it's a quality product and worth the money if you need a remote controller.

Mounting your video camera on a tripod has some obvious benefits, but if you then have to fiddle with the zoom, focus and iris controls on the camera body, those benefits are reduced.
Almost any adjustment will result in camera movement, and not the intended kind.
This contraption solves that. I haven't tried any other pan handle controllers for comparison, but can certainly attest to the build quality of this one. Its mostly plastic, but solid plastic. The focus and iris knobs are metal, the mount is metal. It all feels solid, and it works great.

Trying my very luck, I bought it for my bmpcc and was hoping it will work. And it really did! Iris, auto iris, recording, and focus lever all working well even with metabones speedbooster. Canon lenses focus pulling is acceptable, but tamron 15-30mm and 35mm SP is way too slow in focus pulling. I cant really feel the variable speed, look like a single step at a time. Native m43 lenses like Olympus 17mm f1.8 is a charm, excellent! Does feel like it has variable focus speed with native lenses, though I only borrow from a stranger and play with it for less than a min.

Ordered this unit last week for use with our AC160. We need a reliable unit to help control the camera when used high up on a tripod, or crane.
This unit works just great, on all counts. The only complaints or suggestions for Varizoom would be to have the iris and focus control knobs have a bit more resistance in it, and ideally some way of allowing it to make finer, slower changes in exposure. Right now its a bit fast, occasionally causing me to overshoot the correct setting and have to dial it back a bit.
But its great to have, its a very high quality unit, and B&Hs service is of course the best. Highly recommended. I like it so much that I ordered another for use with our DVX200.

Not much to say about it other than it works as intended. It's not overly sensitive either, making it a suitable control for the slower artistic zooms as well as the fast pop zooms, to the extent your camera can do that through servo.

Works great, just as advertised with my JVC-HM 250. The price is great all functions work just like the other cameras with gear controls, real smooth action. Had it for about a month.
