Q: 1. I got this adapter for my Fuji XT20 and a Canon 50mm EF lens and I can not get the lens to focus at all. I have the shoot without lens setting activated, and am trying to focus manually and it is not working. What am I doing wrong?

A: Depending on the lens, some have a drive by wire system so even in manual focus they wont work with this adapter, the older 50mm EF lenses are the opposite and these would work.

Q: 2. Does this adapter come with lens caps?

A: Thas l'ensemble mount adaptor didn't comment with a cap.

Q: 3. I am about to put my Rokinon Cine Primes on my Bolex H16 and shoot some Tri-X 200 asa. Has anyone tried this? Is there a calculation for setting exposure to adjust for using the c mount to eos ef Canon adapter? If no one responds I will be happy to post my results.

A: The iris on this adapter is not needed for use with manual lenses like the Rokinons. You just use the manual iris on the Rokinon lens while leaving the iris of the adapter at its widest opening. The adapters iris is meant to compensate for loss of the iris control of a Canon EOS EF lens. Now in the digital world you could just set this up and see the effect of the adapter iris immediately on screen. However, since you are shooting film, we suggest doing what a professional would do before principal photography and that would be to shoot an exposure test. (there is no available exposure calculation chart for this adapter.) Line up a shot of a person holding a grey card plus a notation of what the f/stop is that you have determined by using a light meter. You can use a clapperboard or a clipboard to display the card and the f stop. (Do yourself a further favor and have it held steady in the frame held by a grip stand.) I would shoot at a variety of f/stops so that I would know what was happening if I was to shoot at those f/stops. As you can see, we strongly suggest sacrificing a roll of film this way so that you know you are getting correct exposure once you start shooting for real.

Q: 4. Will this work in continous focus or AFC mode .. i'll be using sigma 17-50mm f 2.8 lens with lumix s5 ?

A: Yes. Just be mindful it take power to continuously focus on the following system.

Q: 5. Will this work to adapt Canon NFD lenses to the Sigma FP? The Canon lenses are already converted to EF mount.

A: A native Canon FD-mount manual focus lens designed for use on manual Canon 35mm SLR cameras would not be compatible for use on the Viltrox EF-L Lens Mount Adapter for Canon EF or EF-S-Mount Lens to L-Mount Camera. However, if your lens was somehow converted to a native Canon EF-mount lens mount, then yes, the above lens mount adapter would be compatible for your usage needs.

Q: 6. Will the Viltrox EF-L adapter allow full Canon EF lens to Leica CL body communication as well as IS, auto focus and auto aperture setting?

A: It depends if the specific lens that you are using was setup in the firmware that the adapter has. If it was autofocus, body communication, IS, and auto aperture will work. I don't see a compatibility list online though so only way to know is to try it out. Also bare in mind that autofocus tends to slow down with the adapter, specially in video mode it tends to be only manual focus.

Q: 7. Does this change the lens focal length for crop sensor or full frame? Does this change the lens f stop? Thanks!!

A: It does neither. If you are using 35mm lenses with an M42 mount they will crop according to the crop factor of the sensor of the camera you are fitting them to with this adapter. I used this adapter together with a Metabones Canon - Sony E-mount adapter too. No change in focal length other than the sensor crop factor. There is no F-stop change either. Hope this helps!

Q: 8. I have a tamron 75-300 that is meant to fit a canon ef, will this adapter work? I have the adapter and it seems that it wont fit in.

A: This adapter does accept lenses that have a Canon EF/EF-S mount.

Q: 9. I bought 3 of these based on the reviews here and they are all unacceptably loose once tightened. They actually wiggle in the connection between the VELLO to Metabones adapter. (I have no issues with regular EF Canon lenses). Does anyone have the same problem?

A: Problem is using 2 adaptors to canon body I use this with old super takumar 85 f1.8 great portrait combo very tight precise focus via live view.

Q: 10. I see this adapter works with the Canon EOS Rebel T5i, does that mean it will work with the Rebel T7i?

A: This adapter will work on all EF/EF-S cameras which include the Rebel series of cameras, as well as all other Canon DSLRs.
