[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's really hard to go wrong with Samsung when it comes to SSD's or any form of digital storage. I have been using them since I got my first Samsung 2.5" SATA SSD 9 years ago (which is still going strong!). Per usual, Samsung is at the top of performance specs and the 990 Pro is no different with sequential read/write speeds up to 7450/6900 MB/s, which I was able to achieve using Crystal Disk benchmark software. Before doing anything though, you should install the Samsung Magician software for hard drive management and update the firmware to be current that fixes some issues that were reported on. Once updated, you can also use the software to manage other drive features like encryption, performance optimization, or run health checks. I have this in my PC now as I wanted to update the drive and run some benchmarks, but I plan to move it into my video game console and pick up a second 2TB 990 pro for the PC. Once again, I am a very happy Samsung hard drive customer and couldn’t imagine going with another brand. They have great performance, longevity, and a proven track record. They have earned and continue to have my trust in keeping my data safe and devices running at lightning speed. 5

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I got this SSD, I was skeptical that it would actually be faster than the 980 Pro I was using in my console. I was completely wrong. I popped it into the M.2 slot on my console and started it up. The console did a speed test and showed 7450mb/s! I couldn't believe it was testing at the full advertised speed. The load times are insane with this drive. I'm going to buy one for my PC as soon as I upgrade my motherboard! 5

Ours didn't come with one, unless we managed to lose it in the excessive packaging. It works great, more than doubled our console memory with the 2TB version. 5

I did add an active heat sink to it that has passive cooling on it to keep the performance at top-notch on a PCI Express expansion card. 5
