I have 3 complaints... everything else is Great! 1. Bulky carrying case i bought a pelican case instead. 2. Quick-Release system is not quick at all i bought a manfrotto quick release so i can remove my camera without re-balancing. 3. The battery should be able to charge without fully assembling the gimbal. (The battery is in the grip but the charging port is by the controls)

I've used several stabilizers. Glidecam, Ronin M. They all pretty much kill your arms. Since this is lighter than the Ronin M, and motorized (unline the glidecam), it is easier to use, and easier to re-position quickly, if you didn't get the shot you wanted. I'm looking forward to using this for a long time and as long as it continues to work, I don't anticipate ever needing to buy another stabilizer.

I tried the moza air 2 first and quickly determined it was a poor imitation of this thing. This thing, though, is amazing.

Love the DJI Ronin S. I finally got my own after borrowing one several times. The add on Nanuk case is great. perfectly designed for the Ronin S. It comes with a nice hard foam style case too but this one protects it way better.

So excited when I first got it today. Charged it up for about 30 min just to try it out. I turned on the battery, turned on the gimbal , heard the "beep"... and NOTHING happened.. Motors didn't do a thing. I thought I had a lemon straight out of the box. The mode 1 led was dimly flashing on and off.. come to realize that it was in a standby mode.. double clicked the power buttons and motors came alive!!.. Thank GOD!! Gonna have to work out more cuz geez!!!.. this thing isn't light!.. other than that, I'm in gimbal heaven!! Can't wait to shoot with it!

I had the same experience as several other reviewers ( I turned on the gimbal after properly balancing and the gimbal motors didn't move-despite the gimbals lighting up). This can be fixed by going into the app (something you really need to do anyway) and unpausing the gimbal motors. Works great after that.

I really don't think 1 star reviews are acceptable just because you couldn't figure a product out. Yes, you have to do some research with these things because it doesn't come with an instruction manual, but so what? It's an incredible feature-packed tool at an incredible price. I'll take the lack of a printed manual any day (downloadable pdf manual is on the website)

That being said, I'm using this with a GH5, metabones xl, and sigma 18-35. It balances fine, even with an extra quick release attached. Someone asked if the 18-35 would balance and a b&h staff member implied that it might not. That isn't true. It balances great. The GH5/18-35 combo also works with the focus nob right out of the box. Say what?! All you have to do is flip the switch on the side of the 18-35 to auto and the focus nob will control your lens...which I wasn't expecting, could not find any research on, and is absolutely better than it sounds. It's an amazing thing to witness.

I'm coming from the ronin m and it's mind-blowing the amount of features this has by comparison, as well as a million other things it does better. It's quieter. The motors are super strong. It's smooth. Initial testing looks as smooth if not smoother than the m. It's also a ton easier to wield than the m. If battery life estimations hold true, it absolutely kills anything on the market right now.

Yeah, it's heavy for sure, but it's very well built and feels extremely premium to hold. Plus, it's still lighter and much less of a workout than what I'm used to.

Barring any unforeseen catastrophic failures in the future, this is by far the best gimbal on the market at the best price.

I use the Nikon D850 with the DJI micro -USB Type-B cord so I can use the start/stop record button on the Ronin S. When plugging it into the Nikon from the Ronin S it plugs into the bottom half of the Nikons USB-3. It took me awhile to figure that out. Hope this helps.
