Q: 1. Can you remove the stand and use it as a mini tripod by screwing a seperate smartphone grip to it?

A: The pole can also be detached from the base and used as a selfie stick. The pole will have a male 1/4"-20 screw at the bottom, so your grip or other accessories will need a female 1/4"-20 mount available.

Q: 2. I only have a viewfinder on my Nikon D3300. I assume I need to have my solar Glasses on as well as the camera solar filter?

A: Once the filter is secure you can look through the viewfinder. If you wear your glasses and have the filter you won't be able to see anything through it anyway.

Q: 8. What is the difference between this product and a Neutral Density 5.4 Solar Eclipse Filter besides the price?

A: The difference is safety and your vision! The solar filter is ISO 12312-2 Compliant. The neutral density filter is NOT. Read the ISO Warning on the product. ISO 12312-2 Compliant Warning: Viewing the Sun without proper protection can cause permanent eye damage, blindness, and equipment damage. Always use an approved ISO 12312-2 certified solar filter when observing the Sun through optics or cameras. Never use photographic neutral density filters for direct solar viewing, viewing the sun through an optic, or when using cameras with an optical viewfinder. Ensure the solar filter is ISO 12312-2 Compliant. And buy from a reputable source like B&H. Many of the answers to this question are inaccurate and dangerous. I have flagged those answers to B&H so hopefully those answers have already been removed. When you are looking at the sun either directly or through optics, get your answers from experts in the field.

Q: 10. What color does the sun appear - blue, yellow, red?

A: The sun's not yellow, it's chicken. - B. DylanActually it looks yellow through the eclipse filter. I've made some packing foam shims to hold it to the lens. It can be difficult to find the sun with your camera. I need a wide open f stop, and 1 or 2 seconds shutter.
