Just what I wanted. A compact charger for an extra battery. You don't need to charge it in the camera. Also the charger case can be used as a case for the extra battery. I have another wall charger not the Sony. It works but this unit is perfect. This is a must have. 5

I only buy manufacturer's replacement batteries. I have heard too many horror stories about off-brand batteries destroying equipment, so why take the risk. The few extra dollars are worth it. If this happens with an off-brand battery, you have nothing to stand on when making a warranty claim. If a manufacturer's battery ruins your equipment, at least you have an argument. 5

I always carry a fully charged extra battery when I plan to use my digital cameras, and I have more confidance in Sony batteries. 5

Sony has and continues to be a tour de force in the digital camera industry. I bought the spare battery for my Sony RX1. The kit comes with a charger the size of the battery vs. some humongous device. When I change out an exhausted battery I place it in the small case/charger. Once home I simply plug the charger in. Smart engineering and great product! 5

Although it takes around 3 hours to charge, somestimes a bit longer, it's an essential piece of equipment for the Sony DSC RX1 camera and therefore highly recommended as a second (in my case a 4th) backup battery. 5
