The Shure SLXD4D is a dual-channel digital wireless receiver compatible with all SLX-D transmitters and housed in a rugged single-rack chassis with two removable antennas. It is ideally suited for rackmounting in portable flight cases and long-term installations for small- to medium-sized venues, event spaces, conference rooms, houses of worship, and education facilities.

The system delivers crystal-clear, 24-bit digital audio with a wide dynamic range for natural vocal reproduction to presenters, vocalists, clergy, lecturers, and performers. It operates in the UHF band and uses Digital Predictive Switching Diversity technology to protect the transmission from interference and deliver a solid, reliable RF signal without dropouts.

The all-metal rackmount SLXD4D receiver offers intuitive LCD interfaces with meters for RF and audio output. It also offers 60 dB of gain control, and both mic/line XLR and 1/4" instrument outputs for each channel. Additional features include automatic frequency scanning and IR sync to easily link the transmitter and receiver to the same frequency.

You can run up to 32 mics simultaneously in the same space. Setting up multiple systems is made quick and easy via the Ethernet port which allows you to execute a coordinated frequency scan for all the connected receivers from a single location.

  • The SLX-D delivers 24-bit digital audio with a fast transient response and over 120 dB of dynamic range—resulting in clear, accurate sound.
  • The system operates in the G58: 470 to 514 MHz MHz UHF band with a 44 MHz tuning range and 1760 selectable frequencies, far away from potential Wi-Fi interference in the 2.4 GHz band.
  • Digital Predictive Switching Diversity uses a microprocessor to switch between the two antennas for the cleanest signal—before dropouts occur.
  • Low latency makes the system ideal for applications that require live sound reinforcement.
  • Spectrum-efficient digital transmission technology allows for up to 32 mics to be used at once.
  • Up to 10 compatible systems per 6 MHz TV band and 12 systems per 8 MHz band are supported.
  • Ethernet networking saves you time with coordinated group scanning between multiple receivers from a single location; TCPI command streams from third-party companies such as AMX and Crestron are also supported.

  • Housed in a tough, single-rack metal chassis with detachable antennas, the SLXD4D receiver is a great fit for A/V installations or as part of a portable rackmount rig—ready to travel to a meeting or event.
  • The SLX-D is engineered to provide outstanding sound for small- to medium-sized spaces and facilities—without costly, complicated features required primarily for large venues.
  • Intuitive front-panel controls and a high-contrast LCD screen with audio and RF meters makes set up a snap.
  • The auto-scan function automatically seeks out the cleanest available frequency for you. The receiver and transmitter then easily link to the same frequency via infrared.
  • The receiver offers up to 60 dB of adjustable gain, and the display shows you where the ideal level should be.

  • Adding UA874 active antennas or PA805SWB passive antennas increases the range of your system and offers increased protection against interference.
  • The UA844+SWB antenna distribution system (available separately) lets you stretch the power of your antenna pairs, giving you more on-air channels in less setup time.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Do these work with the paddle antennas to get more range or help with interference?

A: No, the Shure BLX88 receiver included with the Shure BLX188/CVL Dual-Channel Wireless Cardioid Lavalier Microphone System has built-in internal antennas and is not able to connect to external antennas. For this option, you will want to consider using the Shure BLX4R, SLX-D, QLX-D, and ULX-D series receivers.

Q: 2. Can use this for vocal singing?

A: Yes, the Saramonic HU9 96-Channel Digital UHF Wireless Handheld Mic for UwMic9 System can be used for a musical vocal performance.

Q: 3. Is the base unit rack mountable?

A: No, the BLX88 receiver is not rack-mountable. To install it inside a rack, it would have to be on a shelf such as BH #SHURT2.

Q: 4. Compatible with UwMic9?

A: Yes it is.

Q: 5. what is the difference between Hi8 and J10 Shure wireless systems?

A: Same systems, features, and performance characteristics. They operate on slightly different UHF frequency bands:H8: 518 - 542 MHzJ10: 584 - 608 MHz

Q: 6. Would I be getting what is shown in the photo? The all black 2020 device or the old original yellow device?

A: This listing is for the Saramonic UwMic9-RX9, the old orange version. The new version is called the UwMic9S (BH #SAUWMIC9SK2M).

Q: 7. Can I buy several sets on two different bands for 12 mics all working at the same time a?

A: Yes you can use 3 systems of the Shure BLX188/CVL in one band and 3 in another band to be able to use 12 mics at the same time without their signals interfering.

Q: 8. Does this work with a Countryman mic?

A: Yes - if the Countryman mic is connector specific for a Shure TA4F connector:

Q: 9. Can I mute mic from the body pack?

A: No, the transmitter does not have a mute switch.

Q: 10. If I buy two eight channel systems, can I use them both simultaneously?

A: Yes and no. Two of the same exact systems that operate on the same fixed (preset) frequencies will not work together because you would have mics from each system each trying to transmit audio on the same frequency, like two radio stations trying to broadcast on the same frequency and you don't hear either station clearly. Each mic needs to operate on a different frequency in order to use multiple wireless mics that can be used simultaneously. The best option for you would be to purchase the 16-channel system which is essentially two of the 8-channel systems that have different fixed frequencies for each mic. The VocoPro Digital-Play-16 Sixteen-Channel Digital Wireless System with Headsets & Lavalier Mics is B&H# VOPLAY16.
