I bought both the gold/silver reflector and the white translucent. I use them primarily for photographing flowers and other small subjects (mushrooms, bugs, frogs, etc). They allow me to keep shooting, even when the lighting conditions are not ideal. The gold/silver reflector is great for reflecting warm(gold) or neutral(silver) light back onto the subject. This counteracts any harsh shadows and enhances mid-tone contrast. When collapsed, it is small and weighs almost nothing. It stores easily in its own little pouch, so it's easy to take along anywhere. It's also a nice touch that the pouch has a tag to identify what's inside. That way, you don't have to open each pouch to find the one you want. This size is perfect for my use, but if you intend on shooting larger subjects (e.g.: people), then you might want to choose a larger size. Using this with the white reflector(diffuser) gives me complete control and greatly increases my opportunities to shoot, and the quality of the results.

Works well and does the trick to defuse harsh sun light.

Nice product. Folds small enough to fit in the bag and is light enough to carry. Works wonders in the field for flower and other macro or close up shots. The gold side is my favorite. Gives me early or late light any time of the day.

Seems well constructed, I've only had it for a week or so. I bought this so I could get full body fill. I used to use some white felt I draped over a boom arm, this looks better, and also has a silver side for more reflection.

Well made product, collapses nicely, does the job. I would highly recommend it.

Easy to use, portable, perfect for location portraiture.

This is a great item to have around. Useful for still or video photography. Gives some extra fill without using additional light sources.

I bought this product for outdoor portraiture, but use it for not only portraits of people, but also flowers where the direct lighting needs to be softened. It works easily like a cloud crossing between the sun and the subject diffusing (scattering the lighting) and creating a softer lighting source. It is well built, opens easily and quickly, and folds back down for easy storage. The only problem is that you need a stand or another person to hold the disk in place, as any wind will turn it into a sail and carry it away. Photoflex makes a stand on which I place a ballast to keep everything upright and standing on breezy days.

I have used these for a few years now, and love them. They are compact, but durable. I prefer the soft gold for the slightly less harsh tone it creates, and it's nice to have the white when you need it on the other side.

I have other larger Photoflex LiteDiscs, happy with all of them. But if you want to get in tight this is the one to have. Choose the opaque for soft light or the silver for that punch you need to sparkle your image. And talk about small, fits in your pocket when you roll it up.
