Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is the power supply 220v compatible?

A: Yes, the Shure QLXD4 Digital Wireless Receiver (G50: 470 to 534 MHz) BH #SHQLXD4G50 offers a 100 to 240 VAC, 50 / 60 Hz at 150 mA with a North American AC outlet plug.

Q: 2. Does this bodypack come with the mic capsule or just the bodypack? Also, does BH sell a replacement mic capsule for this bodypack? We have a broken capsule that we will need to replace.

A: The Shure QLXD1 Digital Wireless Bodypack Transmitter (BH #SHQLXD1G50) does not include a microphone element with purchase. There is a vast selection of compatible microphones that can be used with the QLXD1 for various applications. The Shure WL185 Cardioid Lavalier Microphone with TA4F Connector (BH #SHWL185) is a common option: https://bhpho.to/3NQusKe. The following link filters other potential replacement mic elements to use with this transmitter: https://bhpho.to/3JYBMRn. Please reach out to our Pro Audio team via chat, email, or phone for further assistance identifying a microphone replacement specific to your use.

Q: 3. Does ulxd1 transmitter h50 work with ulxd4 h51 receiver?

A: Yes, the Shure ULXD1 Digital Wireless Bodypack Transmitter for the H50 frequency band (534 to 598 MHz) will work with the Shure QLXD4 Digital Wireless Receiver for the H51 frequency band (534 to 598 MHz) since the H50 and H51 frequency bands overlap and the Shure ULX-D and QLX-D components are compatible for use together.

Q: 4. How many ULXD4D receivers that you can link without the D.A

A: you can only connect two systems without Distribution

Q: 5. I have receiver DDT4T I looking for Handheld Transmitter . Do you think this one work with my receiver?

A: I am sorry - B&H has no reference for a DDT4T transmitter. The ULXD2 Handheld Transmitter with SM58 Microphone Capsule (G50) is designed for compatibility with Shure's ULX-D wireless systems only.

Q: 6. Can the QLXD1 G50 beltpack be programmed to the L50 frequencies, or the receiver programmed to the G50 frequencies?

A: They cannot they are two different models and they have different connectors. The QLXD1 is a TA4 and the L50 is a 3 pin lemo.

Q: 7. Can you only run (1) microphone through this item?

A: Yes only one wireless ULX-D Wireless System transmitter may be paired with this receiver.

Q: 8. How many watts does the Shure ULXD4D pull down?

A: That unit does 9 watts of power consumption.

Q: 9. I was told by another dealer that i cannot use a ULXD2 transmitter with a QLXD4 receiver, does anyone know if this is really true. cause under compatible TX's it says you can?

A: Yes, but both devices must have the same operating frequency band, such as G50. Group and Channel settings within the frequency band are the same for ULX-D and QLX-D. The Group and Channel number for each device have to be set manually, as the InfraRed sync will not work.

Q: 10. how many mics can each channel have? or is it 1 mic per channel?

A: The Shure ULXD4D Dual-Channel Digital Wireless Receiver (G50: 470 to 534 MHz) has two separate channels which can each be used with a separate transmitter/microphone. Two transmitters/microphones can be used simultaneously with the ULXD4D Receiver.

No need to set gain. Wide RF range. And a low price for a transmitter.

I bought this mic specifically to handle Q&A sessions in a corporate A/V setting. It does such a great job rejecting feedback when a user stands more than a foot away from the mic. You can really hear the rich fullness of the human voice even at a great distance away. This mic paired up with proper compression on the input channel gives the mix engineer much to work with. B&H order process and shipping are the best too.

Just used four of these on a show and they performed beautifully.

Super easy to use, great battery life with NiMh AAs and they sound excellent. Easily got 7 hours on 10mw, probably around 3-4 on 35mw but 10mw is more than enough for most situations, and when I had to use 35mw mode, the extra output power really makes a difference so changing batteries a few times is fine with me.

The automatic gain is no joke, it just works to the point where I even forgot about, I just kept rolling and only had to touch the gain on my mixer. You never hear any artifacts or pumping and the dynamics of the speakers voice are always naturally preserved, it really feels like the gain knob is being adjusted in real time as opposed to any sort of compression or limiting.

The only thing I would knock it for is it's size, it's pretty big (think same thickness as a G4 but a little taller), which makes it tough for some outfits for narrative work, but I'm not going to take a star off because it's built like a tank and feels like you could hammer a nail in with it.

It's also significantly cheaper than any other transmitter from any other system. That means you can break into the Axient ecosystem very affordably (relatively speaking) and get the performance you need even if it means having to do an ankle rig.

If you can go for the ADX1 or ADX1M, I would say go for it, but considering the price difference, the AD1s are a fantastic choice.
