A: We use this for backyard movies and it works brilliantly! The black backing means we can use it earlier in the evening before it’s pitch dark. I tried a white movie backdrop but that required it to be really late at night for the projector to show up. Since I already owned this for photography it was a nice surprise to see how well it worked with our projector.

A: It is possible to use the Manfrotto HiLite for video production. However, we would not recommend using an LED more than 200 watts being that this product is not intended for use with continuous lighting.

Q: 7. Are a couple of Godox AD200's sufficient for lighting the inside of these? What head should I use?

A: You will want enough power to be 2 stops brighter than the light on your subject when using the Manfrotto HiLite Illuminated White Background (6 x 7') BH #MAHL67. You would want to use the barebulb of the AD200.

Q: 8. What type of holder (if any) do you use for shooting?

A: The backdrop can stand on it's own, or you can strap it to a tradional background stand (2 stands and crossbar).

Q: 9. I have been shooting green screen and have seen people use this as an alternative to be able to use quick extractions. What method/software would you recommend if switching backgrounds from green to lit background?

A: I use the Magic Eraser Tool in Photoshop; one click anywhere on the background and it's gone!I would image that any software that will eliminate green can be used to do the same with pure white there must be a setting somewhere.

Q: 10. Can you use this with just one strobe light?

A: I like the spread of light using two lights. You CAN use one strobe, but you'll need to feather it just right depending on if you're shooting full, 3/4, 1/2 etc.
