Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I use this with a XLR Female to 1/8" TRS Male Connection cable?

A: Hello Cristina, you could. However, there is no reason to. This kit comes with everything you need to record into your computer.

Q: 2. October 2021: does it come with SMR or SM6? :)

A: The Rode NT1 + AI-1 Interface Bundle comes with the SM6 Shock Mount with Detachable Pop Filter.

Q: 3. Can I power the interface with a 48v power adapter, or does it have to be connected to a computer? I'd like to run the mic and interface by plugging into an outlet without having to have my laptop on when I want to record... I do like the idea of having Pro Tools to edit music files but I don't want my computer to always be the source of phantom power for my studio.. I have a Yamaha DGX670 that allows me to record directly to it so i just want to power everything up (except my laptop) and record

A: USB bus powered

Q: 4. The last person who reviewed this item said that the shock mount didn't fit and that a tread adapter is needed— is that true? Or does this full kit come ready to set up and use?

A: Hello Seven, I have read the review and it is possible that a piece of the reflection filter could have been missing. However, we can't be sure of this. The Auray filter shows all pieces necessary to connect a standard 5/8th microphone stand. The Rode SMR shock mount comes with both the 3/8ths adapter and 5/8ths to connect to all standard microphone stands.

Q: 5. Do these mics come as a matched stereo pair?

A: The Rode NT1 is not currently offered as a matched pair.

Q: 6. Does this mic have the actual SMR shockmount included or is it the SM6?

A: The shock mount included is the SMR.

Q: 7. Does this come with a pouch or case?

A: items included in the box are: Rode NT1-KIT Large-Diaphragm Cardioid Condenser Microphone Rode SM6 Shock Mount with Detachable Pop Filter Microphone Dust Cover XLR Microphone Cable No bag or case

Q: 8. does this mic work with motu m2? or do I still need a separate preamp? If so, any preamp recommendations?

A: Yes, the Rode NT1-KIT Large-Diaphragm Cardioid Condenser Microphone can be used directly with the MOTU M2 Desktop 2x2 USB Type-C Audio/MIDI Interface.

Q: 9. I tried to connect to a Pioneer DJM 900 NXS2, but the the microphone doesn't work at all. I tested via Focusrite on my computer, and it does work there well. How can I set up the mic with DJM 900 NXS2 to get sound?

A: The Microphone is a condenser and requires 48v of Phantom Power, which the Pioneer mixer does not supply. You can use an external phantom power supply, like the Rolls PB23. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/155422-REG/Rolls_PB23_PB23_Single_Channel.html However, if you intend to do live performances, this may not be the right mic. As it is a condenser, it is very sensitive and will pick up crowd and room noise, and possibly cause feedback in a live setting. You may want to consider switching to a dynamic mic for your live shows.

Q: 10. Is this product used

A: Its new. I was just as skeptical as you were. Your biggest fear is literally the beginners version of whatever DAW that they give you for free. And the sensitivity of the NT1 in general.
