A: ZEISS Lens Gears utilize a tool-less friction lock which requires sufficient force to be loosened and tightened. When a Lens Gear is properly affixed the force applied by a follow focus is not sufficient to loosen the Lens Gear during normal use.

A: Yes, this would work well for both video and photo applications. In order for it to serve you best, I'd recommend a fluid head that isn't so so large that it would obstruct the spirit level. It has a 2.9"/74mm diameter, so measure your fluid head's base and see if that'll work for you.

A: Hi George, The Leveling base is used to level the bottom/base of the head. If you use the virtual horizon feature in your camera it will be fine for single images, but if you want to do a stitch panoramic you will have to level the base and the top of the head. It all depends on what you want to do. If your tripod has a level on the base you can level the base by adjusting the legs. Our leveling base is designed to make it easier for photographers to level the base. I hope this helps.
