The 77-86mm Kase Magnetic Step Up Ring Filter Adapter allows you to attach a Kase 86mm magnetic filter to a lens with 77mm filter threads. The adapter screws onto the lens and lets you magnetically attach your filter. It will not work with ordinary, non-magnetic filters.

A: You are correct. It will handle filters up to 100mm wide (4 inches) and 152mm in length (6 inches). The Lee 150x170 filters are too big for this pouch.

A: If you're referring to a still lens the front element will obviously move substantially when you zoom, so having a mattebox attached to rods would be impractical. If you are referring to a prime lens or just using the lens at a set focal length I see no reason why it wouldn't work fine.
