Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I use this on my sinhieser xwd wireless lav to connect to my c100 mark 2 with the top handle attacged

A: Hello Ben. The VXLR Plus is a 3.5mm TRS Female to XLR Male adapter and converts phantom power of P48 down to plug in power (2-5v). If that's what you need to do and you have the proper connections then, yes, it should work. If you don't need power then the Rode VXLR would work just as well.

Q: 2. Will this work with VC1 3.5mm 10' Extension cable that requires a plugin power or do I need VXLR Pro ?

A: Yes the Rode VC1 extension cable will work with the Rode VXLR+ adapter.

Q: 3. Does this work with DJI RSC 2 Gimbal Stabilizer Pro Combo

A: The SmallRig Weight-Reducing Shoulder Strap for DJI RS 3, RS 3 Pro & RS 2 looks like it requires the handle illustrated but not described in the image as well. If you attach this accessory, you will be able to use it on the DJI RSC 2.

Q: 4. Does this work with the Deity D3 pro microphone ?

A: No. Because the D3 is self powered you can use the regular VXLR https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/387850-REG/Rode_VXLR_VXLR_Mono_Mini_Jack.html

Q: 5. For nikon D90 camera which adapters i need for celestron sct edge hd 11 “?

A: You would need the above Sky Watcher M48 adapter plus this Celestron adapter: https://bhpho.to/35JdTue

Q: 6. Will this let me connect a Rode Wireless Go receiver to the Rodecaster Pro?

A: No. You should use this one: Rode VXLR - Mono Mini-Jack to XLR Converter BH #ROVXLR: https://bhpho.to/398Q5Rk

Q: 7. Can this be used as an adapter for PA's or DJ's desks into a XLR input on a recorder?

A: The Rode VXLR+ 3.5mm TRS Female to XLR Male Adapter with Phantom Power Converter is typically used to adapt microphones with 3.5mm wiring to XLR inputs, however this adapter could presumably work in the same manner with a line level 3.5mm connection from a DJ deck into a line level XLR input on a recorder.

Q: 8. is this needed for zoom h6 and rode wireless go?

A: No. The adapter you want is the Rode VXLR (B&H # ROVXLR) since you only need to convert the 3.5mm plug to XLR. The VXLR+ is used when you are using a condenser style microphone like a lavalier mic with a 3.5mm connector and need to connect it to an XLR mic input on a recorder or mixer. For instance, if you have a separate lavalier mic that you use with the Wireless GO transmitter, such as the Rode Lavalier GO, it is a condenser mic that requires plug-in power, which is a low voltage. A recorder or mixer's XLR input can supply phantom power, which is typically 48V and way too much power for a lavalier mic. The VXLR+ converts the 48V to a much lower voltage and allows you to use a mic like the Lavalier GO which requires 2.7V and connect it directly to an XLR input on the H6.

Q: 9. I'd like to connect my on cam cold-shoe shotgun mic (sennheiser, takes AAA) to audio mixer (zoom F4). Is this what I'm looking for?

A: You can use that but it isn't necessary. You can use a simpler adapter like B&H # KOAXMMF or B&H # ROVXLRB&H # ROVXLR

Q: 10. Sanken COS-11D Omni Lavalier Mic With a Sennheiser 3.5 EW connector work properly with this adapter please?

A: My previous answer may be inaccurate. Some COS-11D microphones are 48V Phantom and some are +3V to +10V. You will need to determine the power requirements of your microphone. The VXLR Plus provides 5 Volts.

I purchased this to go with a new Thunderbolt 3 drive and it does exactly what is supposed to- allows me to connect the new RAID drive to my 2015 Mac that only has the older T2 connections.

I have boxes of outdated wires and newer devices that need to communicate with older devices. In addition to the built-in inconvenience, Apple creates a need then prices items such as this as a specialty item (i.e., we only make a few so we need to charge more). So, sure, it works fine; but will too soon go into that box of outdated adapters.

With this adaptor I connected a Thunderbolt to Firewire adaptor and the daisy chain worked fine... so far. I do have other gear, with Firewire connectivity, that I have yet to test but will.
