A: This stand is very light weight, as it is designed to be extremely portable. I use a mini-boom with no counterbalance, but I don't get the mic too far from center. Just enough to clear my strings. If you use a full boom you'd have to counterweight it evenly with the microphone. At some point, the balance point would move too high and cause tipping. But it fits in a 20 bag!!!

Experiment with the distance from the choir and the separation of the mics in relation to each other.
