The drive will work on my 2017 macbook pro if I use a straight (not smart, not active) USB-C - USB-A adapter plugged directly into one of the 4 thunderbolt ports, but will not work with the cal-digit dongle, for example. With the M1 Macbooks I only get two ports; if I use one to power the laptop, and plug the drive+adaptor, that leaves *NO* ports for anything else.

They dock charges my computer, so I can leave the charger in my travel bag. It has plenty of space for all the things I use on a daily basis. It also made transferring the contents of my last computer onto my new one via external hard drive so easy. It really end the game of find the right adapter. 5

I purchased this OWC dock to work with my new MacBookPro which only has TB3 ports. I went from having to plug in one monitor, a second monitor, a mouse with a USB-TB3 adapter, a speaker, and a hard drive to just one TB3 cord. I had it for about 2 weeks before the dock stopped powering up, and customer service at OWC was great, I sent it in and they sent me a replacement quickly so I was up an running as quickly as possible. I did not realize how convenient it was until I lost it for a few weeks! 5

I love OWC - Apple-level build quality, design and functionality at a fraction of the price. This unit keeps my MacBook Pro fully charged during intensive video editing and graphic compositing/rendering. Love the SD slots in the front, the headphone jack seems to work better for me than the internal MacBook headphone port, just an all around great purchase, thank you! 5
