The PM1 features an extremely high-quality volume control for dialing in the perfect level every time. Designed for long life and super-smooth performance, this detented control stays where you put it.

Because your monitor is crucial to your performance, the PM1's XLR input connector accepts standard mic cables and features a locking mechanism to prevent accidental disconnects. Just press the tab next to the bottom-mounted connector to release the cable at the end of the gig. It is important to note that PM1's XLR input is not designed to accept balanced line signals taken directly from your mixer, as an amplified source is required. For connecting a stereo source, such as your headphone amplifier or mixer's headphone output, you should use a TRS-to-XLR (male to male) cable.

You can use your favorite headphones, earbuds, or custom-molded professional in-ear monitors (IEMs) with the PM1, thanks to the top-mounted, standard 3.5mm stereo output jack.

Built-like-a-tank, and featuring an impact-resistant metal chassis, the PM1 was made for the road and will give you many years of dependable, highest-quality performance. When you do need to move around, say to change your amp or stomp settings, PM1's built-in belt clip will always keep it close at hand. Just slip the PM1 onto your waistband or belt and let the good times roll.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does stereophonic signal from the input is being amplified and delivered to the stereophonic headphones output?

A: Yes, the Polsen BCPM-A2 Active Belt Clip Personal In-Ear Monitor Amplifier is switchable for mono or stereo input signal. When set for stereo mode, a stereo input signal will be sent to the headphone output as a stereo signal. Set the mode switch accordingly based on the input signal.

Q: 2. phantom power?

A: No, this is a headphone amplifier. You would not connect a microphone directly to it.

Q: 3. Where is the switch that flips it from 'Mono' to 'Stereo?' The manual shows it near the volume knob, but there's nothing there.

A: According to page 03 in the manual, the mono/stereo switch is inside of the battery compartment. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/lit_files/836189.pdf

Q: 4. I bought this a year or so ago and have been using it to use to boost the monitor level for my somewhat high-impedence headphones. I just tried the mic port for the first time. I am finding that the mic input leaks into the monitor channel even with the mic volume at zero. Raising the mic volume does raise the mic input, but also adds quite a bit of noise. And when the monitor volume is at zero, the mic channel does not sound even with the level set up high. I expected the two inputs to be independently controllable. Is there a way to accomplish this?

A: Hello. Thank you for your description of usage. This device is designed to where the Monitor level control is a master control over the overall mix output of the mic input and monitor input. The two input channels can not be separated. If needed to balance the levels of the mic and playback in your headphones, you'd have to balance the mic gain on the Polsen, and the headphone out of the Steinberg individually. As for the metronome bleed through the mix when the gain is down, the headphone out level of the metronome is a much hotter signal than the expected mic level intended for the mic input. Due to this, it is possible that the level would pass through while the gain is turned down. I would recommend revisiting the metronome built into your recording software. This can be used while recording and not actually be on your recorded tracks. By going this route, all you would need the Polsen for is to boost the level of the headphones.

Q: 5. Will this item add a stronger bass and more lows to the sound of my headphones or it just raises the volume?

A: This only controls volume, not tone.

Q: 6. Mono?

A: This is Mono/Stereo switchable.

Q: 7. can this be used with earbuds ?and what microfone would bee best ?

A: This can be used with earbuds. The type of mic would depend on what you are doing with it. For a live vocal performance situation, here's a general mic recommendation: B&H # SEE945.

Q: 8. My computer OS is Windows 11. Will it work with my OS?

A: The Poly Studio P21 21.5" 16:9 Personal Meeting LCD Monitor BH #POSP21D is compatible with Windows 11.

Q: 9. Could I run a stereo signal into this box & send that same stereo out, but allow headphone monitoring of the signal?

A: Yes, this box has a 1/4-inch input that can be switched to stereo, and has a left and right XLR line level outputs, as well as a headphone jack.

Q: 10. Can this be used as a second monitor for a laptop, independent of whether it is used for video meetings?

A: Yes, the Poly Studio P21 21.5" 16:9 Personal Meeting LCD Monitor can double as a display for your PC or Mac.
