Q: 5. What is the best way to clean the body of the binoculars? The are getting sticky an dont feel like new. Is water ok, with soap?

A: Regarding the best way to clean the body of the Leica 7x35 Trinovid Classic Binoculars, see the information from Leica below: CARE/CLEANING • Your Leica product requires no special care. • Coarse dirt particles like sand can be removed with a soft brush or simply blown off. • Fingerprints, etc. on front lenses and eyepiece lenses can be pre-cleaned with a damp cloth and then wiped dry with a clean leather or lint-free cloth. • Do not use alcohol or chemical cleaning solutions on the optics or housing. • Do not use excessive force when cleaning a severely soiled lens surface. The coating is abrasion resistant, but not impervious to sand or salt crystals. • The housing should be cleaned using a damp leather cloth only. Using a dry cloth may cause friction, which may result in a static discharge. • Always rinse off any traces of salt water! Dried salt crystals could damage the surfaces. • The device should be stored in a well-ventilated, dry, and cool place to prevent fungal growth (particularly important in humid climates).

Q: 6. Are these binoculars made in Germany or Portugal?

A: These are not the same quality of the German made Trinovid in the old times. The Portugal copy of this renovated product line is performing at best as a $250-$500 bino from other manufacturers. If you are from a $100 bino this will for sure amaze you, but definitely not for someone own quite a few Leica optics. Just be aware...

A: The Leica D-Lux Carrying Strap (Black) is approximately 5 ft long

A: Unfortunately we do not carry the Leica replacement eyecups. My sincere apologies. I would recommend contacting Leica directly for this piece. Leica's Telephone#: 800-222-0118

Q: 9. Are these Leica's guaranteed to be 100% dustproof? I can keep them dry enough, but cannot keep desert dust off of them.

A: The Leica 10x25 Trinovid BCA Binoculars have the Hydrophobic AquaDura coating on external optical surfaces allows dirt, dust, and fingerprints to be removed easily.

Q: 10. I would like a more complete description of the cordura case, for example, does it have a belt loop and zipper, etc?

A: The Leica binocs I bought in December were a gift. We did not include a case. We have the same ones that we have had for many, many years ago and have never used a case. We wrap them in our clothes when we travel. Otherwise they are around our necks for instant use. Sorry I could not help you with the case.

These are fantastic binoculars. Compared to my extremely sharp, but much bigger and much heavier Zeiss 7X50's they actually show more detail except in dim light. I added a pair of Bushwacker brand number 3 rifle scope covers $7.50 each for protection of the objective lenses so I can carry them without worry under my coat without the case. The scope caps are a very snug fit, but open and close at a touch once installed. Although I had read reviews stating that they were difficult to hold steady this was not a problem at all for me. As a cruising sailor living in Alaska I will take them when I go ashore in the dinghy in summer for wildlife viewing and birding, and will use them for hunting in the mountains in fall and winter. I can't imagine a better binocular for my purposes.

Used these on a trip to Europe. Used for standard outside viewing you would expect but also could they were indispensable in basilicas museums etc. At St Peters the ability to actually view the ceilings was a game changer. The fact that they fit in the breast pocket of my jacket meant they were always with me. they might not be waterproof in the classical sense but for any reasonable activity they are great. one of the most useful items I purchased for a three week trip

This is the ultimate in a compact binocular with the famous Leica lens quality! These are lightweight, small, and fit on your belt so are easy to take to the opera or symphony as well as on a walk or hike to look at a bird or other wildlife. As with all Leica equipment, they are very expensive, but the lens sharpness and quality are unparalleled. The rear lens rubber eyepieces collapse to the standard distance for use with glasses, which I don't need, but it has been an asset to my friends with glasses. The focal length is longer than most opera glasses, but this gives you a great, close-up view.

These Trinovids are even better than I expected. They're small and light--and provide amazing detail. We use them for watching all the bird and animal action around our house. But they're small enough that they're going to be going to the ballet with me too.

A great product. Compact, light, crisp optics. Leaving for Kenya and Tanzania in a few days and wanted 10x power. Perfect fit for me!

The binoculars art compact and light weight and have an amazing lens clarity. I look through them everything is magnified but I have no sense of looking through lenses because the image is so crystal clear. I bought my first pair in 1985 and had them stolen in Italy this April. the first thing I did when i got home was to order a new pair.

Have purchased 3 pairs of these... One for me and I was so impressed that I purchased two more for relatives. Some may say the 10x25 power can be a bit jumpy. If you find your hands aren't as steady as they used to be, simply read the directions and hold them as recommended with your thumbs touching the bridge of your nose and pointer fingers touching the eyebrow area... jumpyness cured. I personally think the higher power 10x25 is worth the slightly jumpy nature of these binoculars... These get you in CLOSE with razor sharp, crystal clear, bright clarity. Lots of Binoculars bring things closer but do they really improve your vision at the same time? Pick your bird so far away that is a blur and these will let you see the detail of individual feathers. Simply fantastic and they are not as Lightweight as you may think for their size... The Zeiss comparables weigh a bit less for the same size but that lack of weight adds to their jumpy nature. I compared both side by side and can easily say the optics of the Leica are superior. Lieca optics are TOUGH TO BEAT!
