Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How is the auto focus effected, using a Nikon Z 70-200 F/2.8?

A: The Auto-focus works great when using the Nikon Z Teleconverter TC-2x with the NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S.

Q: 2. Sorry, I was not specific enough with my question. Is the indent in the back of the Tamron Z 70-300 lense large enough to accommodate the protrusion of the teleconverter, 2X, or 1.4x?

A: The Nikon Z Teleconverter TC-2x is only designed to be used with specific Nikon lenses. It will not work with other lenses such as the Tamron 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3 Di III RXD Lens for Nikon Z. Additionally it will not physically fit on that lens.

Q: 3. Is the teleconverter compatible with the 40mm f2 SE lens?

A: The Nikon Z Teleconverter TC-2x is not compatible with the Nikon NIKKOR Z 40mm f/2 (SE) Lens.

Q: 4. Can I use the Nikon Z7 ii, with Nikon Z TC-2X, then FTZ adapter and finally an AFS 500mm f/5.6 PF ED VR telephoto lens?

A: The Nikon Z Teleconverter TC-2xis not compatible with the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 500mm f/5.6E PF ED VR Lens. To use a teleconverter you need to attach the Nikon AF-S Teleconverter TC-20E III to the Z7 II with the FTZ Adapter. Than add the lens. Here is the link: https://bhpho.to/3sRG5aZ

Q: 5. I realize this question has been asked twice but the answer has just been no and i would like to know why. If one has a Z camera with an FTZ adaptor why wont a Z teleconverter work with an F-Lens? Your basically just switching positions with the FTZ and Tele.

A: The reason that this won't work is because the opening on the back of the FTZ Adapter is not large enough for the extending piece of the teleconverter to fit inside.

Q: 6. Will this work with the Nikon NIKKOR Z 24-200mm f/4-6.3 VR Lens?

A: As of right now, the only lens it is compatible with is the Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S.

Q: 7. When ? can I purchase one.? Any approx. dates.?

A: Unfortunately we do not have a shipping date at this time.

Q: 8. Will the 1.4 converter work with the 24-200 Z lens?

A: As of the date/time of this reply, according to Nikon's website, the Nikon Z Teleconverter TC-1.4x is only listed as compatible for use with the NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S Lens. It is not compatible for use with the Nikon NIKKOR Z 24-200mm f/4-6.3 VR Lens.

Q: 9. Will this TC-1.4x visibly degrade sharpness of Nikon Z 400mm f4.5 S on Z8 for birding or is sharpness almost (98-99%) unchanged?

A: After extensive testing, Digital Camera World determined that the Nikon Z Teleconverter TC-1.4x (BH #NIZTC14) may cause a slight if typically imperceptible drop in central sharpness while increasing corner sharpness.

Q: 10. Does this TC-1.4x impact the sharpness, autofocus speed and low light photography of the Nikon Z 400mm f4.5S for birds?

A: All teleconverters impact sharpness, autofocusing speed and definitely light regardless of the lens. However the Nikon Z 1.4X teleconverter does an impressive job of keeping the degradation to a minimum, it's barely noticeable. The autofocus speed will also work great. The only thing you'll actually notice is the stop loss in light, dropping the f/4.5 aperture to f/6.3.
