    A: The Celestron TrailSeeker 100 22-67x100 has no filters. If you are referring to the objective lens cap that comes with the scope. That would slip over and cover the objective. Which is 100mm.

We use this for birdwatching and other critter viewing. The zoom is excellent and the quality at low or high zoom seems equally excellent. I'll confess I don't have a lot of spotting scope experience to compare to, but, it's quite a step up from binocular viewing, so, if you're using binocs now, you will really enjoy the extra insight these provide. 5

This Celestron Regal M2 100ED has exceeded my expectations in almost every way. The scope lens has a clarity that rivals many scopes that cost hundreds of dollars more. It's easy to focus; easy to carry; super easy to set up. All the features you want will be in this scope. Fabulous for terrestrial as well as astronomical use. 5

I went into this knowing almost nothing about scopes, so I called B&H and they pointed me to the Celestron family of scopes. After careful consideration, I bought this one so that my husband and I could actually see the birds we were finding. The first day we took it out we saw a couple of Cinnamon Teals. I was so excited! The scope is very easy to use, well balanced, and just feels solid. After figuring out how the soft shell bag works (it was harder to figure out than the scope), we were set, and took this scope out into the rain and were able to spot lots of birds. I recommend it. It is huge, but not so heavy that a small senior woman can't carry it... My husband adds: this scope, for the price; the quality is excellent. He noticed no vignetting and once understood, the controls are relatively easy to operate, rendering excellent optics for birds when they're not flying. 5

Went birding today and was able to do a back to back comparison between the Celestron and an 80mm Swarovski. Now that's not a fair comparison coz the Celestron in a bigger heavier scope but on the other hand the Swarovski does cost more than twice as much. So visually which was better? Smaller high end or bigger mid range quality? Well it was not even close! Celestron for the win. Day and night brighter and just as crisp. (both scopes were focused on two bald eagles in a tree at 400 yds) The build quality on the Celestron is nice but not as nice as the Swarovski and the Celestron IS bigger and heavier but in my opinion, carrying a scope and a tripod is a pain so what's an extra pound? And if you are going to park it in one place, it's a no brainer unless you want to drop $3k on a 115mm Swarovski which I suspect is even better. 5
