Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. The features overview says "Tally support with ATEM switchers via optional Teranex Mini Smart Panel". Is this correct? It would seem bizarre that you'd need an optional front panel for this. I'd assume that, with the multi viewer and switcher on the same network, you'd use the BMD software to configure tally, yes?

A: You can configure the tally setting using the optional Teranex Mini Smart Panel or when connecting the Multiview 4 over USB to a computer running the Multiview Setup software.

Q: 2. Can you solo any input just by using the Teranex control panel? Without having a PC connected?

A: Yes, you will be able to solo an input by using the Teranex Mini Smart Panel.

Q: 3. Is the Fan as loud as other BM devices ?i need quiet fan on set

A: The fans in the Teranex mini products are quieter than many of the rack mount products, but there is a fan that must run in all the minis. So I would say it's not as loud.

Q: 4. Is it possible to use the BMD Zoom Demand with 3rd party zoom motors which have USB as an input? E.g. the DJI RS Focus Motor, Tilta Nucleus Nano (with an Macro-USB adapter), or SmallRig Receiver Motor 3263?

A: The Blackmagic Design Zoom Demand at this time only works connected to Black Magic cameras using compatible lenses. It would not work with any of the 3rd party gear listed.

Q: 5. can the sdi/hdmi multiview outputs display progressive frames in 1920x1080 or only interlaced? it looks like it can do progressive in 4k but not in 1080 based on the dip switches unless im misinterpreting them.

A: the Blackmagic Design MultiView 4 can do progressive outputs

Q: 6. I want to use the ultrascope while playing back from an AVID Symphony. Is it possible to use the same computer to run Ultrascope and AVID simultaneously?

A: Maybe possible, but not recommended, because the ultrascope software using full screen mode for full intetface, so you will need a third display for it, which means an expensive gpu. It is much cheaper buying a basic pc for the ultrascope.

Q: 7. How are non-standard resolutions handled by the inputs, ex) 4:1 (3840 x 960) intended for an LED screen?

A: On the Blackmagic Design MultiView 4, non-standard resolutions are not supported and will be displayed black.

Q: 8. What computer specs are needed to use this card?I know in the past Blackmagic Ultrascope only worked with a particular computer type.

A: According to Blackmagic Design: Physical Installation: PCI Express 1 lane, compatible with 1, 4, 8, 16 lane PCI Express slots. Please see the full system requirements for Windows and Mac OS X.Operating SystemsMac: Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks or Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite.Windows: Windows 7 or Windows 8.1.

Q: 9. Will this work with the new PYXIS 6K?

A: Yes, the Blackmagic Design Zoom Demand is compatible with the Blackmagic Design PYXIS 6K Cinema Box Camera (Canon EF).

Q: 10. Have the PoE capabilities of this switch been published? It was implied that it can power 2110 converters.

A: At this time, Blackmagic has not published the full specifications for the Blackmagic Design Ethernet Switch 360P, B&H # BLIS360P.
