The Kase 82mm DIY Magnetic Screw-In Adapter Ring Kit allows you to convert conventional 82mm screw-in filters to the magnetic type. The kit includes two rings. One ring is magnetic on one side and has 82mm male threading on the other. This ring screws onto your camera lens. The second ring is magnetic on one side and has a 82mm female thread on the other. Screw your filter onto this second ring. Then magnetically mount this second ring onto the first one that's already on the camera lens. Filters heavier than 2 oz, such as certain variable ND filters with brass rings, are not recommended.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I wish to purchase a Sirui G-10X Ball Head and replace the screw with this one. Do I use this one or the QR version?

A: First, this is a very professional and high quality! The D ring is also a great plus. I replaced all my plates with this and other better quality screws. The screws that come along the plates are so cheap.

Q: 2. Does the D-ring lock to one side so that it doesn't swing down and get in the way when you're trying to seat the plate in the head of the tripod?

A: The ring will stay in place as it is tight enough so that it doesn't jiggle around.

Q: 3. Would this be wide enough for a 24mm (Leica SL 24-90) in the folded down (smallest) position?

A: It is best to use the hood the lens came with for most light blockage and least vignette, https://bhpho.to/3vlRCz2 . The Heliopan 82mm Screw-in Rubber Lens Hood will produce some vignette.

Q: 4. Is this stainless steel?

A: If I'm not mistaken this screw is nickle plated -- maybe chrome but more likely nickle.

Q: 5. Can I use with a Sirui T-005SK T-0S Series Travel Tripod with B-00 Ball Head (Black, Aluminum) B&H # SISUT005SK MFR # SUT005SK ?

A: Yes you can

Q: 6. What is the difference between this RPS-14D (for RP plates) and the QRS-14D (for QR plates)?

A: The RPS-14D has a slightly longer unthreaded portion of the stem to allow use on thicker mounting plates. PJ

Q: 7. Will this screw fit the QR plate of the Manfrotto 410 head? If not, is there a D-RIng type screw that will fit it?

A: You will want the proprietary Manfrotto 1/4 screws.

Q: 8. Is there a longer version of this screw? I have a camera with recessed threads, and this screw (that came with my tripod) doesn't reach them.

A: This is a longer screw but if it is too long the camera might not fit well.

Q: 9. This works on 501 PL plate?

A: Is the D-ring strong enough to attach on to a strap and not break?

Q: 10. I have a RF 24-70mm, will the lens cap still fit with this on, or is it one or the other?

A: The Sensei 82mm Screw-on Tulip Lens Hood does not accept lens caps. You will need to remove the hood to use a lens cap. An option that accepts center pinch lens caps is the Sensei 82mm Quick Clip Lens Hood BH #SELNQC82.
