Q: 3. Is the /i lens data /i3 (cubed)? Does it contain lens distortion data?

Q: 4. Hello, Sorry, This Lens is Manual Focus or Auto Focus ?? thanks.

A: This lens is manual focus.

Q: 5. Does this lens have a protruding T ring in that the rear plastic is uneven ? I had an issue with an EF Lens that would not fit on a C100 due to this protrusion. Thanks

A: This Rokinon lens with EF mount would fit and work with your Canon C100 camera. There should be no issue with the gears on the lens effecting mounting with your camera model.

A: Rokinon Xeen lenses are not listed as weather sealed.

Q: 9. Hello, I just purchased a new XEEN 14mm T3.1 Canon mount and Im having an issue that I hope you can help me with. I am using the lens on a Blackmagic Cinema Camera MFT and I am adapting to MFT with the Metabones Speedbooster. My problem is this: With the aperture set to 3.1 the image goes soft and blurry at infinity. I can pull a sharp image if the subject is extremely close (12 or less) but the farther away it gets the blurrier it becomes; like the lens is nearsighted. If I close the aperture a bit the problem goes away but then getting enough light becomes an issue and the lens is still very nearsighted; meaning that if the subject is 6 or more feet away Im having to focus to ?, way way off from the markings. On the spec sheet it says the minimum focus distance is 11 but I can easily pull sharp focus on an object as close as 4. Really clear up close but blurry far away. Is this an issue with the lens? Camera? Speed booster? I should say, I have been using a set of standard Rokinon Cine Lenses with great success 24, 35 and 85 also with a Metabones Speedbooster and, to be honest they seem to be pulling in a sharper image than the XEEN. Being that the ZEEN lens is literally 5x the price that doesnt seem right. What do you think?

A: I do not think anything is wrong with the lens or the camera. Rather, I would suspect the adapter. If the lens is not held exactly in the right place, at the precise flange focal distance, you will have the issues you are describing. In other words, the lens is not at the proper placement to the sensor and therefore it cannot focus to infinity. On top of this, the situation is exacerbated with wide angle lenses in general. While everyone knows that wide angle lenses have great Depth of Field in front of the lens, at the rear of the lens the Depth of Focus (or the area in front or back of the sensor where the lens is placing the image) is extremely limited. (Over on telephoto lenses the opposite is true with limited Depth of Field but huge Depth of Focus.) So I suspect that the Metabones Speedbooster (you did not mention which one you had.) holds the Rokinons well enough but is not holding the 14mm Xeen in the precise position required. I would then have to suggest contacting Metabones with the model of adapter you are using for their opinion. Hopefully, you may able to exchange just the adapter and clear up the problem. However, the solution may have to be sending the camera, the adapter and lens to a camera technician for proper adjustment. info@a href= http://metabones.com target= _blank metabones.com/a

Q: 10. Can you use threaded filters with Rokinon 16mm T2.6?

A: We are afraid not. The Rokinon 16mm Cine DS Lens does not have a filter thread on it. You may want to consider using a Matte Box system for filters with lenses like this. This lens has a 81.6 mm diameter, you could use the Wooden Camera 2-Stage Clamp-On 4 x 5.65 Zip Box which clamps to lenses between 80-85mm, B&H # WO241600.https://bhpho.to/2Aosn5R
