The Tiffen 3 x 4" 1 Coral Soft-Edge Graduated Filter helps to specifically add a warm, pale orange coloration to skies and other bright areas of an image while allowing a portion of the image to remain neutrally colored. The filter's coloring is densest at the edge and tapers to clear by the middle, with a soft-edged transition between the density and clear areas. The 1 color density provides less coral coloration than the 2 density, but more than the 1/2 density filter.

This filter is made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass and grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch. It measures 3 x 4" / 76.2 x 101.6mm.

Note: A vertical orientation filter's line of transition runs parallel to the short side of the filter.

Provides a natural-looking warming effect to select areas of the image.

Graduated filter design keeps a portion of the image neutral, resulting in a more realistic look while allowing for the sky or other bright areas to take on the color of the density.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Hello. I use a tamron 24-70mm and sigma 50mm. What will i need to make this work on those lenses? Anything special that isnt included in the kit or maybe a differemt kit altogether?

A: You will need the ring that the holder sits on. The Beauty is that the holder fits any lens with the proper ring. Depending on the mm o your lens you will need a ring. You can purchase step up rings fairly inexpensive on the web.

Q: 2. Is this a glass or plastic filter?

A: This filter is made of optical glass.

Q: 3. I am interested in this product but don't exactly know what all is needed. I have the Canon 5D III. please advise. I am using different lenses but ultimately want to purchase the Canon 24-70 for landscapes. Thank you

A: The kit comes with three filters, the holder and a lens cap that fits in the holder. You will also need the correct diameter adapter ring for whatever lens you mount the holder on. I bought two rings, a 72mm and a 50mm to fit my two Sony lenses. Hope this is helpful. The filters work great in landscape photos to balance bright skies.

Q: 4. 82mm adapter for Lee GND filter

A: If you are intending to use this filter with the Lee Foundation kit, this would be the compatible 82mm lens adapter: https://bhpho.to/2sSscdG

Q: 5. Are the filters large enough to move the line of the horizon up and down in holder and still cover the entire image?

A: The filter is 100mm long. Most lenses are much smaller than that, so you do have a lot of flexibility on how much you can move them up and down.

Q: 6. I want to use this kit with a Canon 18-35 MM F4 lens (67mm); a Canon 18-55mm F4 lens (58MM) and a Tameron 18-400 mm lens (72mm) and possibly by 70-200 lens which is 77 mm. I can't find the adapter rings can you please direct me to what I need to make the system work?

A: B&H # COARP77 , B&H # COARP72 , B&H # COARP67 and B&H # COARP58

Q: 7. Does it work with a Nikon 14-24? What adaptor will I need for the 24-70?

A: Unfortunately, there is no adapter for the Nikon AF-S 14-24mm lens to allow Cokin P Series filters to work with it. For the Nikon AF-S 24-70mm f/2.8E ED VR Lens, the Cokin P Series Filter Holder Adapter Ring (82mm), BH # COCH3HO25 https://bhpho.to/2BzGELC

Q: 8. does this kit include a medium graduated neutral density filter?

A: Yes

Q: 9. I ordered P series Cokin GND filter. My lens diameter is 77mm Should I order a 77-82mm step up ring to fix on my filter adapter ring? Pls guide!!?

A: The Cokin adapter rings are threaded on one side & have a flange on the other end that slides into the Cokin holder. You need to purchase the Cokin 77mm adapter ring for the P series filter holder.

Q: 10. Where is the origin? What is thick?

A: According to the information we have, our current inventory's Country of Origin is UK. Please be aware this can change over the product's production life without notice. LEE Filters are typically 2mm thick.

I like this Split ND filter better than the square ones in the holder. It screws on securely and its is simple to turn to line up for the image. A good filter that darkens the sky just the right amount at 4 stops.

I have used the filter a few times, so far it has met my expectations. The performance is exactly what NISI said it would do. I would definitely recommend it.
