The Tokina 18mm T1.5 Cinema Vista Prime Lens with a PL mount and focus scales marked in feet provides an image circle that more than covers full-frame sensors and is designed to provide sharp images even when recording images at 8K resolution. This is an 18mm focal length lens, and it shares the same form factor, lens gear position, focus rotation, and front barrel diameter as the other Tokina Cinema Vista prime lenses. This makes on-set lens changes a fast and efficient operation. It features a maximum T-stop of 1.5, useful when shooting in low-light situations or when you want to capture that exceedingly shallow depth-of-field look.

The 9-bladed iris provides round out-of-focus highlights for a natural-looking bokeh. The lens is designed to minimize focus breathing, and it features geared manual focus and iris rings. Markings on both sides of the lens barrel make it readable from either side of the camera.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will a 4x4 filter cover this lens in full frame?

A: bonjour,ouiDaniel

Q: 2. It says parfocal design, But is it a parfocal lens with constant T2.9? and will it wok with BM Broadcast G2?

A: Yes, If you switch the URSA Broadcast standard mount to the Canon EF mount which is included with the URSA Broadcast G2 package. You would be able to work with the Tokina 50-135mm T2.9 Mark II Cinema ATX Lens - Canon EF Mount.

Q: 3. Does this lens work well with either of the Metabones Speedboosters and MFT/GH5?

A: If you have an MFT mount camera you should be able to use an EF to MFT mount adapter to use this lens. Keep in mind though that this is a fully manual lens, it will not take advanrtage of the electronic communication that a Metabones Smart Adapter offers. Instead I recommend the Mitakon Zhongyi Canon EF Lens to Micro Four Thirds Camera Lens Turbo Adapter Mark II instead. It is a manual adapter.https://bhpho.to/2bG2xhx

Q: 4. Would this lens work on a GH5s with a .63 speedbooster?

A: I'm not aware of the adapter in question but yes, you can adapt the Tokina 50-135mm T2.9 Mark II Cinema ATX Lens (Canon EF Mount) to work with the GH5, or you could buy the MTF mount and mount the lens natively as well.

Q: 5. Is there a version with lens data /I?

A: No, the Tokina 3-Lens Kit C (PL Mount, 25, 50, 85mm) does not have a version with extended data available.

Q: 6. Does this kit come with a case?

A: No, the Tokina Cine ATX 3-Zoom Lens Kit (Canon EF) does not include a case.

Q: 7. does this lens has any tripod mount capability?

A: This lens, like any similar cinema lens, is not normally tripod mounted. There is a 1/4-20 mounting foot but that is meant to be supported by a rod system that is attached to a camera. This provides necessary triangulated support. We strongly advise using the lens in this manner. We say this because if you attach the lens to a tripod with the foot directly and then mount a camera, ever a small one like a mirrorless, you will likely strain the lens and possibly damage it.

Q: 8. Will this really cover Full-Frame sensors? Key features states that is does and that it is suitable for 8K Image Capture. I would be using it on my Red Monstro VV & my Red V-Raptor 8K VV Sensors.

A: Yes. 100% the following unit accommodate all you 8k full frame needs.

Q: 9. The Zoom RIng at wider end feels to be a bit tight and also makes some noise... (The front element physically moves- with in the housing though). Is this normal? or do i have to send it for servicing?

A: We are sorry for any issues you are facing. For help with your specific order please email us directly at cs@bhphoto.com.

Q: 10. Why are these Rokinon lenses costing almost 10x as much as the Canon mount versions?

A: That is a fair question. The difference between consumer and pro level cine style lenses comes down to functionality on set. In order that the exacting work of movie making be as efficient, reliable, and consistent as possible, there need to be certain design parameters. 1. Excellent resolution, color and contrast image quality that all lenses in the line match. This is so you can cut between them in editing and not waste time making sure each lens seamlessly has the same look.2. A big barrel is needed by the 1st Camera Assistant for precise focus control.3. A common size front diameter is desired so the matte box fits all of the lenses quickly, without fiddling with adapters. The placement of the gears on the lens must be in the same place so less time is used on set adjusting follow focus devices and remote motors for focus and iris. Finally, similar weight lenses mean less time balancing MoVI, Steadicam and other stabilizing devices.4. The DS line has 8 iris blades which is good for bokeh. The Xeen line has 11 blades which is better. All of these parameters cost money. As you go in the filmmaking world, you will see the benefits they provide.
