Kodak's Professional T-Max 100 is a medium-speed panchromatic black and white negative film characterized by an extremely fine grain structure along with high sharpness and resolving power. By utilizing a T-GRAIN emulsion, the grain pattern resembles a patterned, tabular form that maintains effective film speed while reducing the appearance of grain during enlarging or scanning. This film has a nominal sensitivity of ISO 100/21° and also features a wide exposure latitude, broad tonal range, and responds well to push development and zone system development changes.

In addition to processing as a negative in standard black and white chemistry, T-Max 100 is also suitable for reversal processing using the T-Max 100 Direct Positive Film Developing Outfit for creating copy and duplicate work.

This item is one 100'-long roll of standard-perforation 35mm film designed for bulk loading applications, short-dated to expire on May 2024.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How many 36 frames rolls can this 100 feet roll can yield? Thanks.

A: You could get about twenty 36 exposure rolls of film from a 100' roll of bulk film.

Q: 2. Are these cassettes reloadable?

A: I know I would not be able to, no actually I do not think you would be able to. sorry

Q: 3. Is the cartridge DX coded?

A: Yes Kodak Portra films in the 35mm size are DX coded.

Q: 4. Is there a specific developer (e.g. D-76) that is suggested for this film?

A: There is no specific developer recommended. Any standard developer such Kodak D76 (that you mentioned) or HC110 or Ilford Ilfosol will work well.

Q: 5. What is the expiry date of these films?

A: B&H buys and sells film in bulk. In general we regularly maintain fresh film stock. All of our film is at least 6 months from expiration (typically much longer). Anytime film stock is less than 6 months from expiration we sell it in a separate section and label it as short-dated film and also price it with a slight discount (again due to the volumes we sell this rarely occurs). Unfortunately we do not have access to our inventory to hand inspect the expiration date of any of our films prior to purchase.

Q: 6. Is this film 36 exposure?

A: The Vello Wireless ShutterBoss Timer Remote (Sony Alpha Connection) is compatible with the A55, yes. This film is not 36 exposures, no. It is a 100 roll of film that would need to be loaded into empty film cassettes before it could be used. The following would be a 36 exposure ISO 100 roll of Ilford Delta:Ilford Delta-100 Professional 135-36 Black & White Negative (Print) Film (ISO-100) (B&H # ILD10036).

Q: 7. B&W Positive Film, how I can make prints, a reversal paper I guess...?

A: Reversal paper is one way. Another way - scan on good scanner and then print on digital lab.

Q: 8. Does this fit in a normal camera? Because 100' seems like a lot.

A: this is bulk film meant to be cut and loaded into film holders such as Kalt 35mm Cassette For Bulk Film: https://bhpho.to/2pPsUnw

Q: 9. Can I use the c-41 on this film?

A: No this is not a C41 film . You need to develop with black and white chemicals like D76.

Q: 10. What is "Used" Film??

A: The Kodak Professional T-Max 100 Black and White Negative Film (120 Roll Film, 5-Pack) in the used department (Used Cat #2709141) has expired on 11/22.

For the price you can't beat it. Superior, in my opinion to Ilford HP5+. With proper exposure the grain is at a comfortable level and overall has a good range of levels of exposure for black and white. If you develop at home like I do I've noticed that Kodak films handle better in terms of reeling the film into the development tank. I don't know why, but the Ilford stuff always gives me more trouble in the dark bag.

Tmax is a great film. I shoot 100 and love the results. I shoot this on a old Minolta camera and sell the images at 8x12 in 16x20 matts. This is my absolute go to for B+W film. Can't go wrong!
