Flawless

I upgraded from an older 4k Apple TV to the latest version and the response and performance are significantly better. Nice improvement!

I bought this based on some reviews I saw online. I’d been using Firestick 4K and was overwhelmed with the advertising. I also wanted to get a Homelink hub.

After using it for quite a while I really like it. My wife adapted to it very quickly and uses it with ease. I particularly like that I can manage almost all of my streaming subscriptions using it.

As someone who's not completely buying in the whole Apple ecosystem, I'm really happy with this little device. I used to watch all streaming apps from built-in Android system with my Sony TV. I found it very frustrating from time to time with the lagging and the difficulty of navigating around. Those issues are not with this Apple TV. It's so smooth and easy to use. I also love that Apple keep updating the firmware to make it better and better. Thinking to get some more and replace all Amazon firesticks, Roku, etc.. around the house.

Switched to YouTube TV and use these on 4 televisions in my home and love them. I find myself using Apple Music more than I normally would also.

Great upgrade to a great product. I renamed by old Apple TV and just use it as a music streaming device from my Music library. Only problem with the new unit is it's hdmi only output which doe not go to Zone 2 on my audio receiver. that's why I'm using the old one's optical output.

Upgraded from the second gen 4k ATV and it is like night and day.

I am incredibly pleased with this purchase. I was tired of the sluggish performance of the built-in OS in my smart TV and did some research into a simple streaming/tv box that was responsive and had all of the streaming apps with no drawbacks in performance. That is the Apple TV box. I initially was hesitant to get this since I'm not sold on the Apple ecosystem despite having an iPhone, but this is great whether you have one or not.


With the A15 chip this thing is incredibly responsive with the remote, something that most Fire sticks, Roku boxes, and other things don't enjoy. There is seemingly no delay with using the remote, and the remote is a great layout to quickly get to what you want. With access to the app store, there are no streaming services that are locked out from you. Siri is great for finding shows and I never feel like I am fighting the OS just to watch something. Getting the 128GB version was purely for ethernet since I prefer a wired connection, and I never run into anything buffering (this is partly because of my internet plan, your mileage may vary depending on your download speeds).
The price was hefty, but I know that the hardware of this box is so overkill for it’s usage that it will easily last me 4-5 years for my usage as a streaming box (I don’t game on it or use it as a smart home hub). Something to note is to make sure you are getting the highest quality out of the box, use an HDMI cable that is rated for 48 Gbps. The official certification for these cables is “Ultra High-Speed”.

Whereas there are more and cheaper options than the apple tv out there, there is more to see inside this thing than simple streaming, this is one of the best home automation hubs in the market, of course you need to have more apple products to make the most of out this.

I called B&H to understand what the newest model was and they said the 64GB and the 128GB were identical so I ordered the 64GB model only to find out the 64GB does not support a hard wired ethernet connection. I was issued an rma and re-ordered the 128GB. Thanks to B&H for their support on this...
