The HAE69B-EC iMate GoTo Alt-Az/Equatorial Mount with High-Precision Encoder from iOptron weighs just 19 pounds, yet has a payload of 69 lb without needing a cumbersome counterweight or shaft. The HAE69B-EC features a high-precision RA axis encoder that delivers incredible tracking accuracy, enough that many will choose to image without guiding. Utilizing strain wave drive technology for right ascension and declination movement, the HAE69B-EC iMate delivers impressive weight-to-payload efficiency, and its black anodized, all-metal CNC machined body constitutes a rugged platform. An electronic friction brake and power-down memory allow the mount to safely stop and resume a GoTo slew or continue tracking even after an abrupt power loss (no need to realign and start from the beginning). The included Vixen/Losmandy dual saddle will hold your optical tube assembly securely.

The mount features a powerful, 64-bit, ARM-based on-board computer with Wi-Fi, preloaded KStars planetarium software, Ekos control and automation tool and INDI drivers. This hardware-software combination will support the use of most current and future devices (cameras, focusers, filter wheels, etc.) allowing the user choice of brand and model. With 32GB onboard storage and a slot for a micro SD card, the iMate has the ability to control and capture an entire automated imaging session. The iMate is cross-platform; use it with Windows, MacOS, Linux, iOS and Android, etc.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Which power adaptor(s) will work with this mount (correct plug & power). Thanks

A: Any 12v P4 plug (5.5mm x 2.1mm) connected to 12v batteries ( advised range is 9v -13v ) such as acid batteries, li-Po powerbanks and power supplies.

Q: 2. Can I put a 20kg telescope on it without any problems ?

A: The Sky-Watcher AZ-EQ6 Alt-Az / Equatorial GoTo Mount with Tripod BH #SKAZEQ6 • MFR #S30330 will support a 20kg telescope. Be aware you will be at the maximum weight limit.

Q: 3. Can I use this mount with Orion MAK 127, Orion Apex 127mm Maksutov-Cassegrain Telescope , it weighs 9 pounds

A: Yes as long as the OTA has a Vixen Style Mount, which I assume so. The Mount has an 11-pound Payload Capacity, so weight will work for that OTA.

Q: 4. Can we place this mount instead of the Exos Nano EQ3 mount which i got for ES FL-AR1021000 telescope? I intend to use it for use with telescope only . Please confirm

A: The iOptron Alt-Azimuth Adjustable Base BH #IO3327 • MFR #3327 will mount to a standard 3/8"-16 Mounting Threads

Q: 5. Can I put a 20kg telescope on it without any problems 12" Truss Tube Ritchey-Chretien Astrograph ?

A: The Sky-Watcher AZ-EQ6 Alt-Az / Equatorial GoTo Mount with Tripod BH #SKAZEQ6 • MFR #S30330 will properly support a 20kg telescope.

Q: 6. Which power adapter works with this mount? Thanks.

A: Power consumption in Az-Gti is very low. any 12v source above 2A will do the trick. Average energy consumption is around 750mah in idle. slewing may double. you can even use 12v powerbanks. I have a 8.000mah and it works the night on a single charge.

Q: 7. Specs say: "Payload Capacity 44 lb / 19.96 kg (without Counterweight)" Does that mean I can add more payload if I install a counterweight?

A: So the Counterweight is meant for balancing, so it can move smoothly and track accurately without unwanted vibration or putting additional wear and tear on the motors. It does not add on extra Payload for more weight to the Mount/Tripod.

Q: 8. What accessories do I need to mount my camera to the Sky-Watcher AZ-GTi GoTo AZ Mount?

A: az-GTi carries a Vixen dovetail. So any option that connects to the saddle and provides a 1/4 bolt can be used. there is many options like L-Brackets, or dovetail and 1/4 bolts, you can attach a ballhead on a dovetail. Just remember to balance the mount. Star Adventure or Eq3 counterweights are recommended.

Q: 9. The Specs states that this mount has a 44 lb / 19.96 kg (without Counterweight). Does the addition of the counter weights lower the payload capacity? I was hoping to pair this mount with the Sky-Watcher 10" f/3.94 Quattro Imaging Newtonian Telescope (OTA Only). Would this combination work?

A: You should have no problems even with counter weights

Q: 10. Can this telescope be used on the ground as a hyper-telephoto photographic lens?

A: The Sky-Watcher AZ-EQ6 Alt-Az / Equatorial GoTo Mount with Tripod BH #SKAZEQ6 • MFR #S30330 is not a telescope. It is a mount and tripod to mount a telescope on. There is no lens.
