The black Focal Aria Evo X Two-Way Center Channel Speaker can be easily combined with any of the other Aria series speakers to create an impressive surround sound system. Timber matched to obtain sonic coherence with a variety of configurations, the two-way design features two 6.5" Flax bass-midrange cones with TMD surround for neutral midrange with notable bass, and the 1" M-shaped inverted dome TAM tweeter with waveguide for smooth highs and lower directivity.

Along with the precision drivers, a rear-facing twin port lowers dynamic compression while increasing depth and impact. The Aria Evo X Center's cabinet is made from an ultra-rigid MDF construction, with leather front and black high-gloss finished non-parallel side panels to reduce vibration. The Aria Evo X Center is ideal for rooms measuring from 215 ft2 and from a recommended listening distance of 10'. All Focal speaker drivers are developed and manufactured in France by Focal.

The M-shaped inverted dome TAM tweeter is the successor of the TNF tweeter from the previous Aria generation. It comprises an inverted dome cone made from an aluminium-magnesium alloy, which Focal has molded into the exclusive M shape. This innovative feature reproduces the treble more faithfully by going further into the high and low ends of the spectrum. Its directivity is even less that of the inverted dome tweeter, allowing for more flexibility in terms of listening position. Mechanically speaking, the M shape gives the dome much more rigidity, while reducing distortion even more.

More than 30 years of research and development into engineering a diaphragm that is light, rigid, well damped, and made of sustainable materials has lead Focal to the Flax sandwich or F cone. Flax is twice as light as fiberglass, because the fiber is hollow. It also has very-low elasticity, which makes it ideal to increase the flexural rigidity of the sandwich. To design a high-performance diaphragm, you have to optimize a complex set of criteria, which are for the most part contradictory. The composite solution using Flax in a sandwich structure with fiberglass skins is a very harmonious way of combining low mass with high internal damping, high velocity of sound, and high flexural rigidity.

The Flax cone is made in France exclusively by Focal since 2013. With its original design, the cone is entirely oriented towards acoustic performance. F cones are characterized by their natural sound, with low coloration, their richness of reproduction in the midrange register and their tighter bass.

The midrange speaker drivers of the Aria Evo X line boast the TMD. The Tuned Mass Damper (TMD) is a patented technology involving circular beads molded into the mass of the surround and judiciously sized and positioned. They stabilize how the surround behaves to avoid deformation of the cone and any negative impact on the dynamics, which leads to more faithfully reproduced midrange sound.

Founded in 1979, Focal continues to write its own history each day, driven by men and women who possess unique know-how. Focal is proud to manufacture exceptional products in their production workshops in Saint Étienne and cabinetry workshops in Bourbon-Lancy, France. Every day they honor this exclusive heritage, which has afforded Focal certification as a French Living Heritage Company and recognition worldwide.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can the input form the amplifier be over 100 watt, e.g. 300 watts? So as long as the output is 100 watts on each channel?

A: As long as you are only sending the Pyle Pro PSS4 4 High Power Speaker Selector a maximum of 100W to the left and right amplifier inputs, it will be fine. Make sure you can set a maximum output wattage on your amplifier's outputs beforehand.

Q: 2. Does this come with rack mount ears?

A: The Pyle Pro PSPVC6 6-Channel High Power Speaker Selector does not come with rack mount ears.

Q: 3. How do you hook this up to a sony 7.2 receiver?

A: The Pyle Pro PSS4 features speaker level inputs and outputs. it would be connected between a stereo speaker output of your receiver and up to 4 sets of speakers.

Q: 4. can you play more than one speaker selector at a time?

A: With the Pyle PSS6 you can engage any combination of the speaker selectors, including all on.

Q: 5. There is a 5th front switch labeled Protection. The manual does not address the switch use. What is it's use?

A: I spoke with the folks at Pyle Pro and they said that this is a protection circuit that protects the speakers if there is a sure in power. You probably want to keep it engaged all the time, and I'm not sure why protection is selectable, but that is what Pyle chose to do.

Q: 6. Does this unit have to be connected to an active or passive monitor?

A: These are designed for use with passive monitors.

Q: 7. Can I use all 4 speaker outputs at once? Or do I have to select just one output?

A: You shouldn't. Its just a switch. Selecting multiple speaker sets lowers the Ohms (resistance/Impedence) on that channel, and it can overload the Amp (receiver), burning it out.

Q: 8. what amp works best?

A: Hi, Thank you for reaching out. Onkyo TX-NR515 AV amp, surround sound. The B channel, is stereo, this feeds the Pyle PSPVC6. I have all six pairs of speakers, independently volume controlled. Works Great

Q: 9. what type of wire connectors are on the back?

A: The connectors snap open to insert the wire then snap shut.

Q: 10. The FCC authorizes 22 channels for FRS and GRMS. A small number of radios provide an additional 8 GMRS repeater channels. Does this radio provide repeater channels? In any case, where does the 38 channel figure come from?

A: The T77VP5 is an FRS radio and does not have repeater channels. The additional channels (23-38) are channels with hard-coded privacy codes attached to them. The manual provides more detailed information.
