Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this the latest batch of Fomapan 100 that is packaged with a yellow stripe on the box? The earlier version has a blue tinted base and curls badly. The current version is excellent.

A: The Foma Fomapan Classic 100 120mm Black and White print film we currently sell is the most current version of this film.

Q: 2. What developer might produce the least bromide drag using a steel reel in a steel tank?

A: I would consider using Photographers' Formulary Pyrocat HD Film Developer (Dry) - Makes 10 Liters BH #PHPHDFD10L • MFR #01-5080 for this film. But for your bromide drag issue I would not use the stick agitation but rather inversion agitation to help with this issue so you get the chemistry moving well and it does not sit in one place too long causing the bromide build up in areas.

Q: 3. Im ONLY 4 days into my Mamiya 645 1000s path, how do I know what films I can use in my camera,or,are all 120 films useable in the camera?

A: Any 120 film is compatible with the Mamiya 645 1000s.

Q: 4. What is the exposure latitude for Delta 400?

A: Slim. Not the most forgiving film. Meter like crazy.

Q: 5. Where is this film made and what is your opinion of it???

A: The film is made in the Czech Republic. Film opinions vary by shooter and style. Best thing to do is try a roll.

Q: 6. Hi! has that label that says only open in the dark room for airports?

A: Yes, on the label it says open only in a darkroom. As someone who has passed through airports with many rolls of film my advice is arrive early and have a changing or dark bag so that you can let the security put their hands on the film in the dark bag if it comes to that. But I doubt that.

Q: 7. What is the developing time for Holga 400 120 roll film?

A: At 68 deg Developer temp 6 minutes and 30 seconds

Q: 8. Can this film be possessed like a c-41 film

A: NO. it is a Black and white film, and requires B&W processing. Running it through C-41 will result in a blank strip, with possible loose emulsion. Ilford XP2 is a special film to give B&W negatives while using a C-41 process.

Q: 9. Is the film on the black or white side?

A: I am not totally clear on your question. The film is a strip of transparent plastic film base coated on one side with a gelatin emulsion containing microscopically small light-sensitive silver halide crystals on the back side.

Q: 10. Hi. What security measures are taken in the shipping, thinking that the x-rays of the airport and customs can damage the film?

A: The Foma Fomapan 400 Action Black and White Negative Film (35mm Roll Film, 100' Roll) is wrapped in bubble wrap and placed inside a brown shipping box. Unfortunately, the X Ray at the airport can damage the film. Unfortunately, there is no way for B&H to prevent that.

I've only used this film to have a little fun with. For a student this is a good film to start with, not very expensive.

The Holga film appers to be very simalar to FOMA 400 in a differn package, yet is sells for slightly less than the Foma brand. the film is slightly slower (1/3 stop) than a true 400 speed in some circumstances. and has a traditional Grain pattern. I have had no issues using it in several 120 cameras.

I used this film in a Brownie Flash Six-20 (after I rerolled it onto a 620 spool) and it worked really well. The photos came out nice and clear and some of them look really awesome!

I like the tones of this panochromatically sensative film. I like using it in my Lubitel or Holga due to its latitude and versatility. So far I have taken it hiking where I can use it in shade or brighter areas.
